You can find a brief scene of Spock becoming annoyed here. I want more!!

That scene is incredible. It's the relationships between the characters, the back and forth. I love when Kirk tells Scotty not to answer. He just is Captain Kirk.

Yep...still looks good to me.

Here's a taste of Karl Urban as McCoy:

Yeah, Urban really nails it.

McCoy doesn't have a huge role in XI, but I'm hoping they'll give him more to do in XII. Aside from Kirk, he's my favorite Trek character, bar none.

From that one clip it looks like he nailed it.

Now that's a Vulcan. Cold, professional. T'pol on Enterprise, f'git about it.

Okay, McCoy hated using the transporter, but I never recall him being scared to death of just being in a spaceship.

I think we can assume McCoy got his space legs by the time TOS rolled around. In any case, McCoy's reaction to the shuttle trip hardly seems out of character.

I agree. I don't see McCoy ever getting comfortable with transporters, but his established general disdain for engineers and technology is an excellent jumping off point for exploration of his getting up nerve to go aboard a spacecraft. McCoy is my absolute favorite Trek character and I though the scene was right on the mark.

Yeah, from these clips it looks like Quinto and Urban nailed their characters. They're both short clips, but me likes what I sees.

One minor quibble: The reflections from the various lights. It wan't just in the bridge; they appeared on the shuttle scene too.

Man, those were great! Even the guy who plays Sulu nailed it w/one of the trailers where you hear his voice. A lot of those scenes reinforce my thinking that we're seeing an alternate timeline, as well - one that I hope will be "reset" to the "real" TOS Timeline by the end of the movie. One of the reasons I think this is that we see what appears to be Star Fleet Academy with that huge energy beam coming down in the near distance and one of those scenes they show of a planet collapsing in upon itself looks a lot like Earth.

My only real reservation at this point, tho, is Simon Pegg. I think he's a great actor from what little I've seen of him, but the only line that I've heard from his version of Scotty just doesn't sound or feel like Scotty - it sounds like Simon Pegg playing the role of Scotty. Urban and Quinto feel like McCoy and Spock, but Pegg just doesn't feel like Scotty.

I'm holding out hope, tho, that he'll do well w/the role.

Close but no cigar.

Close but no cigar.

I'd guessed it was Vulcan.

If we're speculating and throwing things out wildly everywhere, I'd say it was Romulus...

I'm voting Vulcan. Don't we see Amanda on Vulcan with the beam in the background and shots of Spock rescuing his parents and others?

That's my vote as well. You have to look for the beam in the background which I thought was kind of 'crappy' considering the effectiveness of the Vulcan 'implosion' CGI shot. "Hey look over there, at that beam of light while I serve some vulcan tea". Next they will call this Genesis-like weapon 'Cadere' - 'cause that would be cool twist to TWOK - you know the whole 'lifelessness from life' kind of thing.

Well, dang. Good thing I didn't wager on my thought, eh? :D
