Was wondering if anyone had did some testing to see which brushless motor(and gearing) would compare to the stock system(and stock gearing), as far as side by side speed.
Thanks

Thanks hankster 04-07-2009, 05:12 PM A lot has been tested at BFG. I believe they figured out that a 17.5 with a 23 pinion is just a tick slower then a "good" Tition. So maybe a 24 or 25 would make it equal. Leonard 04-07-2009, 05:19 PM 27t pinion and 86 spur is close BillH 04-07-2009, 06:44 PM so 17.5's would be the way to go. I am assuming that is with both having a 6 cell battery? Mike D. 04-08-2009, 10:10 AM just a question, why would you want to go brushless, and want same speed as brushed?? just wondering??? CClay1282 04-08-2009, 10:39 AM Less maintanence, more consistant, easier. Butters16 04-08-2009, 01:35 PM Just would like to the same speed to run with the stock truck Mike D. 04-08-2009, 09:35 PM gotchya. Fireball929 04-10-2009, 12:09 AM Butters just glue the rear tires and slap that 5.5 in it and you should be good! Butters16 04-10-2009, 11:47 AM I think i will put the 5.5 in randy's Slash that way i have nothing invested  wrenchhead 04-10-2009, 06:32 PM why are u getting away from spec box stock slash BillH 04-10-2009, 07:25 PM We may be able to get 2 classes going if they continue to take off. wrenchhead 04-10-2009, 11:04 PM and here we go again to many classes kills everything wrenchhead 04-10-2009, 11:06 PM two class of say four or five guy or one class of ten my vote one class of ten but its your sand box u can do what u want BillH 04-11-2009, 09:13 AM I really dont care what we run I just want to run. I suggested following roar rules so if you wanted to go and race elsewher you could thats my only thought. wrenchhead 04-11-2009, 03:56 PM and most places run box stock i dont care either just as long as every one is the same so i thought box stock would make it easyer Fireball929 04-12-2009, 11:42 PM wrenchhead, I ran mine with a 19t 2c lipo and it was a little much on the track. I was throttle driving the whole time. I think keeping box stock for the exception of brushless motor setup(17.5) and radio setup. Hope this calms you down! wrenchhead 04-13-2009, 08:21 AM i will put a 17.5 in not a problem what battery stock or some thing else kenny u should come buy my enclosed trailer it is like brand new talk 2 u later Fireball929 04-14-2009, 07:58 PM found a bigger one for less money donald. 2c lipo no more than 5000mah max. wrenchhead 04-14-2009, 09:17 PM i will have to call my aunt she works at eveready she will get me some hot batterys do u need any that trailer might be cheaper but by the time your done looking and driving to nh you will spend more money then i want this trailer was $5600 new its hardley been used and now u got me feeling bad i will let u have it for $3700 lmk talk to later donald hankster 04-14-2009, 10:14 PM Take deals to the Swap and Sell forum or email. This is a "discussion" forum. Thanks. Butters16 04-18-2009, 11:09 AM With the testing that we have been doing a 17.5 havoc system with the 23 pinion is very close to the same speed as the stock motor setup. just you get them at the end of the run (20 minute mark or so) they draw a little more off their battery. hopper 04-19-2009, 05:26 PM I ran my SC10 with a 17.5 in it yesterday. Almost identical in speed to the slash! ta_man 04-20-2009, 08:09 AM I ran my SC10 with a 17.5 in it yesterday. Almost identical in speed to the slash!
