Sorry,..I mean Gran Torino...I'm loving this movie.
This really was my worst fear...getting old and less scary/intimidating as the world goes ape.
I'm here huckleberry.. We have go go with what we know, at 49 am still capable of protecting my family and my neighborhood...but who's gonna do it when I'm 90?

I really liked it as well. I walked into the theater half expecting *Gunny Highway Joins the Neighborhood Watch Program, and was pleased when it wasn't.
I appreciate the fact that Eastwood has taken to playing characters that show some of the limitations that come with age. He could just as easily have been another in a line of actors who attempt to pull off the "tough guy" role in ways that are clearly inconsistent with their age (Charles Bronson comes to mind), but he has instead chosen to acknowledge his age through these characters.
Also, in the hands of a less capable actor/writer Walt Kowalski could just as easily have been another stereotypical racist war veteran. But the way Eastwood had written and performed the character, the racism Kowalski puts forth are presented as his own ignorance and weakness which makes him the butt of the joke rather than the Korean and/or African American characters; difficult to pull off in these days of "political correctness", but IMO Eastwood handled it brilliantly.
*For those who don't know, Sergeant Thomas "Gunny" Highway is the character Eastwood played in Heartbreak Ridge.
