Does anybody know where to find some dirt oval tracks near Rockford,IL? I just got a new customworks outlaw sprint car and was looking for someplace to run it either club race or just bashing. I'm fairly new to this side of oval racing I usually run carpet or asphalt. Thanks, I would be willing to drive a little as I drive now for pancar racing. Jason Van Hise

Jason - Three possibilities for you.

They are talking about building an outdoor dirt oval in Monroe, WI this summer. They post under threads named "Cheese City RC" on HobbyTalk and RCTech. Should be about an hour away. If they do it I'll be there with my CW Outlaw and an EDM of some kind. Will probably race on Sundays.

There is a track in Silvis, IL (Quad Cities Area) they race Wed nights and some Saturdays. They post on Hobby talk in the Dirt Oval threads, we went there a few times last year. Fun program.

Last but not least is Trackside in Milwaukee - not hard to get there from Rockford, don't know about their program dates.

If CCX gets the OK racing may be on Saturdays. Trackside will be running on Friday night, this is what I have heard.

www.crchobbies.com CRC Hobbies is located only about 15 minutes farther than Triclone. I'll be running up there alot more this summer. They race a couple saturday nights a month starting at 6. You'll need to get some buggy tires and a 5.5-8.5 motor, should be some of the usual West Bend oval guys there as well. They go by the DODC rules and allow the larger 7x7" wing. Triclone saturday afternoons and sprint car racing at night!

Is this really happening? On Rctech, the guys who have gone over there said it doesn't look like much has gotten done...

yah i seen that to! not much done yet! the rain does not help things! the dirt oval in monroe is being built this week ! trying to make it big 4 1/8 lm to run also!!
