With all this Kyosho talk going around, I just had to share my latest Ebay purchase. $15 dollars delivered me this sweet little ride, fresh from Japan.
Heck for the price I was thrilled, and when it got here, I was even MORE pleased!

This is also my first Beads series car I have bought that included the outer cardboard box. I included this in the pics, as we often hear guys talk about this sub series, but few know what to look for in packaging. I know I did not.

This is one of three Nissan's to run the C1 class at the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans. This Lola built machine featured the new Nissan 3.5L twin turbo V8 engine cranking out over 950 hp!!! WOW! However all three entries fell out with mechanical failures. This car, #23 finished 32td, covering less than half of the winners laps.

A rather odd car to reproduce, but I am learning that is very much the Asian / European way of approaching motorsports.

Thanks for the look and enjoy!

Ward

The car is beautiful and the price was great. I have a regular Kyosho Nissan R92CP but haven't gotten any R89C's yet.

Hey Atencio, did you notice no Le Mans Scrutineer decal? Do you think Kyosho did not have the right to produce the decal or just left it off? It seems naked without it!

I didn't even notice. I am not a Le Mans expert. How long have they been using the stickers? I think the oldest I have seen was around 1998.

Otherwise, you may be right. They may have not had the rights or perhaps Kyosho used a version with decals from another race the car participated in.

I also do not know when they started but the mid 80's all had them, as well as yellow class decals prior to that. the real 1:1 Nissan had them placed in the wide white strip just ahead of the front A piller.

15 ain't a bad price, I think I have been paying around 20 including shipping. I am jealous!

Hey Eddie, I went back and looked to see for sure what I had paid. I was suprised that I was to high! I only paid $12.40 US delivered. Man, I am even happier now! The ebay seller was "tomicababy". I need to see if they have anything else I might need !

Le Mans race cars are some of the most amazing looking cars ever built, and Kyosho have some excellent collection in the 1/64 scale. I have #25, but I want #23 as well for it's Calsonic label. The price that you paid is super cheap considering that the MSRP for the car itself is ~$18. I'd love to see more Le Mans racers like the Audi R10, Peugeot 908, Toyota 88C, Toyota GT1, Bentley Speed 8, and many many others.

You can find tons of pictures there, including the Le Mans racers.

WoW, I luv it Ward - I think I might try to make one myself.

Did you take the idea from an actually race circuit corner
or did you dream it up?

It's just dreamed up. But because Road Atlanta is my home track, I made sure I included plenty of red clay in the design! A few more pics showing the difference of the backgrounds...
