I was watch some old NASCAR races the other day and watched Neil Bonnett out running the guys at North Wilksboro in his Valveoline Grand Prix. Neil was from Pleasent Grove, Al. but we alway thought of him as a Hueytown Boy. Long live the Alabama Gang!

That is cool Mike. Do u remember the Miller (i think) Bobby Allison ride? It was red & white, it had the star on the side (door area). It was pretty cool lookin'.

Man Those were the "Days of Thunder"! I watched them roll out that car from Bobby's shop in Hueytown and still get goose bumps when I see it at the Talladega Museum.
Fastest Buick ever produced. Powered by Miller Hi Life!

Bobby's short track car was sponsored by Piper Aero. Where this car is red the short track car was pin striped Red, White & gold It to was a sweet looking paint job.

I guess I'm stuck with the Old Guys from NASCAR. There are very few racers in NASCAR today that could do what these men did back in the day, They did it all back then.

If you look at any of the Hueytown Gang Pictures at Lagoon Park, you see most of the old guys numbers.
Jerry Evans is #97 (Red Farmer), Wayne Rogers is #28 (Davie Allison), Ronnie Williams #22 (Bobby Allison),
Mike Clark is #75 (Neil Bonnett). If we could pick up a few more racers we could cover Donnie Allison, Alton Jones, and a few others.
