I am working on a Briggs and Stratton L-Head engine.....model 10M902, type 0310-E1, code 04040853. The oil seal for the intake valve is located just below the valve seat, in the intake chamber. (it is not in valve chamber that houses valve springs and lifters). It appears to be pressed in. Any suggestions on removing the old oil seal and reseating a new one would be appreciated.

I have never had to replace one, but I would think that if you removed the intake manifold that you could access the seal through the intake port. I think you could pry it loose through the intake, and install a new one from the top. At least this is how I would attack it, but I have never had to replace one yet, as these are relatively new on these engines.
Best of Luck....
