Just found out what these are called, only says Tonka on the bottom.
Anyone got any Tonka Totes? The blue roadster is mine from new - 1970.

got a couple lying around here... or at least the wheels and tires are the same.... egg-mobiles I used to call them. One was painted like a rabbit, a frog, a lady bug and a mouse too. hold for pics bro... I know I had some around here.

They came after these...'72 or so - and kinda cartoony looking.

Well that's pretty interesting.
You can see the cars in this 1970 pik are different than mine, but if your little buggys fit in there then mine might.
That would make a great display piece for the Totes!!!

paint is worn off a bit but you get the idea:wave:

They almost look like some weird ancestor of the chase pice as we know it today
with those strangely colored tires.
You know some worker in the Tonka factory must have stuck these tires on the Totes I pictured above to create something unique.

I've never seen those little Tonkas before. Great stuff guys.

I had the Tonka car carrier as a kid and it came with the red and green vw's small like that. They were cool. I wish I still had them. Tonka also made a larger scale VW Beetle that was awesome. My Dad gave me one as a gift as a kid and he painted it red.
