I ended up burning a clutch out in my RC Car (T-Maxx 2.5) I was wondering how to prevent this from going out again(I seem to go through a lot of clutches.. this is my second one within 4 hours of running the thing)...

Any help is much appreciated, and keep up the good work guys!

I'm very confused with gear meshing (I'm not that advanced in the RC sport yet). What should I try doing? purchase different tooth'd spur gears?

put a piece of paper between the clutch teeth and the spur when you set your gear mesh so you dont set it too tight, the drag of the teeth being too tight would lead to your clutch failure.

if u can pull the paper out without it ripping or sliding out ur good.
ps.it should have folded the paper in small zig-zag formation

That concept doesn't work for me... I end up stripping my spur gear. So I eyeball it and feel for it. And it seems to be working for me. And I don't think that would have anytyhing to do with the clutch (we have some expensive clutches in our basement, so I'll try one of those... Might just be, cause they are worn out).

The extra drag from the gear mesh being too tight is what burns up the clutch....
