Just saw the new "improved" Hot Wheels replacements for the IRL IndyCar series....these things STINK! I am so sorry you guys were bumped.
Your new Dallara casting was (and is) FANTASTIC! I just can't accept the HUGE step back in quality that Mattel if forcing upon the collectors. And just whay are those bumps...MIRRORS?
Just needed to vent! Carry on, I feel better!

I noticed that there was a new hw's Indy car series, but I did not realize that that meant GL was out... that's too bad . Although I don't collect them, the gl quality difference is a no brainer!

Looks like crap wheels signed an exclusive 4 year deal. I hope there is some kind of contract out when the find out the quality isn't there.
NO IRL cars for me anymore.
ollies here has a load of greenlight chrome irl cars. been there for years now. they can't sell them. they are all of either sam hornish or i think helio castroneves.

I'm not quite sure your point Kwik, but I can still say that those OLD Greenlight castings hanging on the hooks are still better designed and executed then the new Hot Wheel versions!
I think this was just another example of greed...HW simply offered more money then GL could match. They bought the business and that is what makes capitalism work I guess. But if you know anything about Tony George and his method of management, then you are not surprised.
I am sure they will sell more cars in a larger market due to Mattel's worldwide marketing. But I look forward to hearing what true Indy Car collectors feel about the overall quality of these new castings. So far we only have photos and those sure do not hold much promise!

sort of like the Kyosho and Hot Wheels 1:18 scale Ferrari Argument (Kyosho making the better cars for cheaper and more details)
