Promatchracer 04-06-2009, 01:39 AM After Talking to Adam I think this is got the possibility of being a great place to race and get parts

IE jumps how wide of lanes
whats the biggest you would want to see a jump
What dirt you want
What's the longest you want a straight
Stuff like that
Let him know so he can get us the best place to race
J Blaze 04-06-2009, 09:30 AM :dude:I think (somtimes ha!)the lanes should be 10' wide jumps should be 1/10 scale friendly:dude:

AlanTew 04-07-2009, 02:48 AM novice electric 1/10 trucks on oval
I had just won my third race in Florida and the track closed down
and then I moved up here and haven't gotten back into rc till now.
Also I'd rather be able to buy locally than having to order online and pay shipping.

Alan where are you at??? I want to get a dirt oval going for sure just without the experience I am not sure how to set it up!!! If you are into it and come help me get it set up I will make you a deal that you can race anytime!!! I think you would and I could make an awesome racing seen here in northern MI there is a few full scale dirt tracks around this area and they pull in alot of spectators and I think if they could afford it they would be racers and this would be a way for them to become racers!!!
J Blaze 04-07-2009, 11:50 AM not every body can aford it but B.F.G. rents slashes?
that might get peeps to by sumthing 2 drive.????:dude:
AlanTew 04-07-2009, 11:58 AM I live between Atlanta and Fairview but work in Gaylord (walmart)
I'm part time so I have a few days off a week and would be happy to help get things going.
the track I raced on in Florida had everything from 1/10 electric to 1/8 monster trucks racing, the nitro late models were great to watch as well.
Keep me informed and I'll do what I can to help

Yeah I think this is a great idea and plan to have 6 of them one of each color as well as a losi slider rental as well this helps people to either be able to run with us or to run more than one class and see if they even like it before they buy it but again thanks for the info and keep the ideas comming!!!
AlanTew 04-07-2009, 02:41 PM losi slider racing would be fun and so would the slash races, that way its all equal and up to the drivers skills, not who has the most powerful motor (ie: brushless with lipo vs brushed motors)

Promatchracer 04-07-2009, 05:53 PM not sure on 12th

hobbyten 04-07-2009, 06:51 PM they haven't been doing 1/12th scale there. they just started to run them in bay city and grand rapids the last few weeks. we normally have between 18 and 23 heats of races in mp. they run alot of trucks pan cars (spec and 21.5) a few buggys and a couple heats of legends and some stock and mod 1/18th scale.
J Blaze 04-07-2009, 09:08 PM Thanks 4 The Invite!!!!!!!!!!:dude::wave:
AlanTew 04-07-2009, 10:06 PM Hi Casey :) saw a message about gaylord and had a look
as usual I have to work easter weekend, but certainly looking forward to this hobby shop and tracks opening.
Promatchracer 04-07-2009, 10:10 PM What about the 19th for our Club race up here
And you have to get the Spring Fling off That is the 24th which is practice and setup I might do a little race that night if they want to
And Sat the 25th is the big Show
harmocy 04-07-2009, 10:40 PM KC lets really try to get some pan cars up there for the 19th I want to run my 12th scale one last time this year!!!
Promatchracer 04-07-2009, 10:49 PM You can run it at the Spring Fling
You can pick one of my extra pancars on the 18th and get it set and tuned so you can race on the 19th with it
We will have 3 for sure than
If you want you can call me at work after 11
I got nothing else to do
harmocy 04-07-2009, 11:05 PM My 12th scale I want to run is an oval 12th!!! Fast car!!!
Promatchracer 04-07-2009, 11:49 PM I found the system
I am not sure if that charger will work but thanks for looking
AlanTew 04-07-2009, 11:56 PM I have the 24th off but would bet $ that I have to work the 25th
maybe I can plan a trip up anyways, is the track site wheelchair accessible? my wife is in one and would anyone be upset if she brought her service dog? and IF I have the 25th off, any hotels nearby?
Promatchracer 04-08-2009, 12:23 AM Alan switch over to the Spring Fling thread
So that way we don't clutter up to much of Adam's thread with My race
Just everybody come to my Race though
Like I have said it is going to be the Biggest Race In Michigan with Road Course and Oval at the Same event
J Blaze 04-08-2009, 11:32 AM you need a jump that puts you on top of a table top than a lip at the end of the table top 2 jump back down 2 a landing!then if u have any 1/8 scalers they can do it as 1!!
AlanTew 04-08-2009, 01:33 PM any plans for indoors? maybe a mini track for 1/12 or 1/18 scale
gotta have something for winter time
harmocy 04-08-2009, 01:40 PM Yep that is right in the plans as well as an indoor rock crawling area and a 1/32 slot car track so there will be something for everyone all year long!!!
AlanTew 04-08-2009, 03:13 PM excellent :) been thinking about a crawler as well
unless the wife finds out hehe
Promatchracer 04-08-2009, 05:02 PM I have the 24th off but would bet $ that I have to work the 25th

Hotel info is on the Spring Fling thread
The Quality Inn is the Race hotel
AlanTew 04-08-2009, 09:15 PM Thanks Casey will see what I can do, find out friday if I have the 25th off
Promatchracer 04-08-2009, 09:39 PM If you have to work don't try and get it off if you don't think you can just wait until the day before and get sick LOL

Harmocy where exactly will the place be located? and let me know when you want to start thinking on plans for the oval track
heres a picture of a nice looking oval, looks kinda flat but gives you the idea
http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f319/Wyndigo1962/?action=view¤t=track_front_angle.jpg
harmocy 04-11-2009, 12:35 AM The location is 2370 S. Ostego Avenue Gaylord MI 49735
I think that oval is coo but want to have some banking and how big is that one???
AlanTew 04-11-2009, 01:19 AM I found the track via google and this was the information on it
20' wide lane and is 120' long X 80' across. The center drive line is about 280 feet and about 230 feet on the bottom.
adding the banking will just take a little more work
