To All,

Hey everyone! I know alot of you are out of state, but I figured I would throw this out there to let you all know what's going on out here.

I'm not sure if everyone has heard or not, But recently we had the opportunity to run a couple laps at the new Quarter Midget Track at Orange Show Speedway. This track is AWESOME! Super hign banks, State of the art facility!!! We went with the intention and hopes to get permission to have a scheduled race event there. Well that time has come! The owners of the track have been in contact with me and are VERY interested in us having scheduled events there in the future. :thumbsup:

What has been proposed at this time is to have a "Fun Day" on Saturday, May 23rd, Memorial Weekend. The OrangeShow Fair is going on that weekend as well so the opportunity of a good crowd is very probable. The Quarter Midget group will be having a Exhibition that weekend as will incorporate our program within theirs.

What I need from you guys is a "Show of hands" of who will be interested to come out with us and play. If we show a good interest this could turn into another So Cal racing facility for QSAC West and the possibility of having NCS races is also available.

Please reply if you have any questions or concerns. As of right now I do not know how much this will be for each racer. I will be getting all those facts together as soon as I know if we will have a good turn out...

that looks like a real nice place i bet the 1/4 scale cars and sprints would fly around there . thats a top notch track .they did a good job on this place.

I LOVE that track!! We have been going out there for a few weeks because our kids may start running the quarter midgets. The track looks wicked fast for RC. But what do you guys plan on using for a drivers stand. You cant stand on the side of the track because you wont see the cars...

We actually did just stand in the pit road and could see the cars with no problem at all, you'd be suprized at how far down the track is. But the main issue would be standing next to each other... I believe Larry Cross has a temporary driver stand that we could pull into the pit lane and still even have enough room in front of it to have a pit road! But for this fun day we might do somethiong even more temporary til we know for sure this will be a new home for us. :thumbsup:

I am working on the details now...

On that note any and all sugestions for a quick and easy, maybe 3 - 4 foot high driver stand would be very appreciated!!! :confused:

How does it look for 1/10th racing? (Can those DOTS be removed?)

We're always looking for places for 1/10th racing - and I had looked at the old POMONA track at one time...and the track outside Tucson (But that's a really long drive from up here on the Central Coast)

To be honest i don't think the 10th scale will work to well on it. The track looks awesome as can be, but unfortunately it is a little bumpy... :( But thats the main reason we are having this fun day is to make sure its not "too" bumpy... I think it will just add charactor to the track and make it a drivers track myself... but to answer the dot question, yes they are removable... I actually hit one on our little test run, man did that car flip in a hurry and straight to the wall... :freak:

We can deal with a certain amount of bumps - and DOTS suck in any scale!

I google mapped Orange Show from here, and it's between 210 and 225 miles, so I don't know if I could get down there to take a look anytime soon - but I do have racers who live not too terribly far from there...I may send out to scout it.

...WORD to So-Cal Q-Scalers -- we don't offer Q scale racing, but if any of the Q scalers are interested we will be holding a 2 day 1/10th scale race at the ENCINO VELODROME in Encino CA April 25-26. (This is a 820 ft. HIGH BANKED Concrete track)

Could not be much worse than the drome. What do you think about cars one velo and one short track? Cap or foams?

Hey to all whos interested... Planning on going out to the track this Saturday (April 25th) to check out the track and come up with ideas for the driverstand and the pit situation. They will be running a race for the quartermidgets so bring the kids i'm sure they would love it... any and all extra eyes there would be appreciated to help make our fun day go off without any MAJOR issues... :thumbsup:

Hey all the time is coming up quick. I have recieved more info for the track and found out what we will need to "Rent" the track out when and if we race there... Looks to be a $15-$20 fee per driver... The more people we get, the less we'll have to charge... So I really need a show of hands of who is really interested in coming out! Please drop me a line or two or even call me and let me know if you can make it or not. I need a good number of people to be commited to make it worth while. If we put on a good show of people the future can be a lot better for us. I understand the out of town guys not making it out for just a fun day, but I would really like to see a good number of locals come out and support this with us please! At this time we will be able to get on the track at 2:00pm and run thru the night. They will have an exhibition day with the kids in the Quartermidgets for the first part of the day. Bring your kids out early, they'll love it! Depending on the type of showing we get will determine the type of show we put on.

Hey Jimmy... Not that many people have "Committed" at this time... unfortunately it's the Memorial weekend so a lot of vacations have been planned... but i'm sure we'll have enough there to have some fun... As far as this "Fun Day" goes, bring what you want!!! We won't discriminate this time around... Now if and when we get some points racing there then of course all qsac rules will apply... :thumbsup: I hope you can make it out... It looks like we will get the track around 2:00pm on Saturday then its ours for the evening... Not too sure how late we can run, but the Orange Show 1/4 mile oval is running that night so hopefully we can get some of those over to check it out.... Hey guys... Gettin excited about this play day tomorrow? I know i am... :thumbsup: Talked with the track president last night, they will have the conscession stand open the whole time for us... they have a state of the art scoring tower with P.A. system for our use as well... I will have the computer system to hook up so we can run some races as well and get some lap times.... Yes Mike Sadler i said Lap times!!! :wave: We should have the track handed over to us between 1:00 and 2:00... Come out a little early with the kids and let them watch the Quarter Midgets run... The owners of this track are just as excited to have us for the opportunity of getting our kids into their sport as well... Hope to see you all there!!!

Remember the Orange Show Fair is going on this weekend as well... To get into the track go to the Pits entrance for the Speedway off of E Street, our entrance will be on the right side of the main entrance.... Tell whoever is at the gate your there for the Quarter Midget track, they'll point you in the right direction!!!

I heard the FAIR was going on this weekend, and that the Orange Show Speedway is always affected by that, I was hoping it wasn't going to screw up your guys day!!

Yeah it seems no matter what the weather is up to the weekend it will always rain during the fair... Crazy superstitions that the place is on an Indian Burial ground... But as far as the forecast goes looks to be a perfect weekend... Hopefully it will wait til Sunday to keep the superstitious people going...

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys that came out and supported us out there yesterday... We had 12 guys come out and play... just a couple open wheels but a good 5 sportsman and 5 GN/Truck so we were able to hook up the computer and simulate a race... All I can say is this place is gonna be fun!!! I think I had the quickest lap without much adjustments to the car at a 5.09 seconds in the GN... the trucks were right at 5.20... and the sportsmans were at the 5.40 range... Didn't get to see the times for the Open Wheels but it looked just as quick as the GN's.... We didn't have the printer set up this time... We had the track for about 4 hours or so and had a great time... I wasn't able to get pics myself,
I don't know if anyone else was able to or not... I'll try to find some and get them on here... I see a great future at this track, one for our QSAC-West points series and 2 for future NCS Races... This place is State of the art and some GREAT food... :thumbsup:

Hey Mike... Orange Show track will be a track we can race at in the future I'm sure... We won't be out there this year as long as Larry gets the last race of the season set up for San Manuel Indian Casino... That sounds pretty promising so it should be good to go.... But I'm sure I'll be able to make the OrangeShow our California place to race starting next season...
