ive got a couple of questions im thinking of getting into these cars they look like they are a blast im found a bandit .09 car at a killer price i think and was wandering if the .09 would be a good starter car or if its better to go on to the bigger engines
also are these ran weekly anywhere like easly south carolina or any where in tennessee near eastern tenn

An .09 would not be a bad place to start. They are lighter and less powerful, and you break less when you hit, lol. Easley is the closet track to you that I know of, but we only run .09s there about once a month. The next race will be one of the last weekends in April (I'll let you know when the date is finalized) and we would be happy to have you come down and race or just look around and ask questions. I've ran some dirt myself, and coming from dirt you might like the heavier car and more powerful .12/.15, but I would always recommend starting with an .09, I did.

To me it is all personal preference.

There is a considerable power difference between the .12 and the .09 and now even moreso with the .15.

From watching the .09's at Easley, it is a tape the trigger and steer class. With the .12's and .15's you do have to let out.

I started in the .12's and had no problem as I doubt you would if you have been racing Dirt Oval.

are the cars diferent between the .09 and the .12 or is it just swapping out engines and mounts cause i dotn see many of these cars for sale any where and ran across that bandit and two engiens new caps for 140 it seems like a great deal to me if you could maybe shed soem light on the diferent cars for me

I don't think there is any difference in the car itself. Just the engine and engine mounts. The .09 bolts right to any 1/10 pan car chassis. The price you paid sounds pretty good to me. It looks like you have a good start on your hands. The Bandit is a good car, but I am not sure about replacement parts. Most of us guys who race 1/10 nitro oval have plenty of spare parts available, if you break something. We are always ready to help out fellow racers. Its good to have you join us. Nitro oval is a blast. Keep in touch with us. We will be at Easley, June 27th, for the Outlaw 250. Hope to see you there.

Well of course I would try to steer you towards the Coyote. :D

You should have no trouble in putting the .12/.15 in the Bandit car, like Time said all you need is different engine mounts, I think.

Actually Scott, if your engine is correctly tuned it takes A LOT of chassis work to get an .09 to go flat out through 1&2 at Easley, and its usually better to at least breathe it in 3&4 even if your car is handling great. I don't want to argue, but I've ran .09s at Easley for 2 years and it is NOT a tape the trigger and steer class. It is actually quite an accomplishment to even get close to running it flat out.

Sam -- My bad. My comment was not meant as a slight to the .09's in the slightest. I was basing my comment on what I had observed by watching the .09's run not only the cars but the drivers and thier trigger finger.

No disrespect meant from me.

No problem, Scott. I was just explaining what the .09s are about to our potential new racer. Its just like all racing: watching it and actually doing it are two very different things.

Yep, we only turn left how hard can it be, right? LOL!
