Team Low Budget 02-28-2005, 04:12 PM I thought the one in the middle was the KSG locator. pepe 02-28-2005, 04:43 PM The KSG is the fourth. MIKE VALENTINE 02-28-2005, 08:49 PM the original front ends were desined to enable you to run three differnet widths on each side. what i call zero being narrowest, then +1/16" for the middle location, then another 1/16, or .125 more then zero being the widest. the fourth one was made to match the front end width of the ksg car +1/32. hope that sets the record straight. Mike V BradJ 03-02-2005, 10:23 PM What the H is a pro 3? I thought the shorty was the latest spawn? Ginsu 03-02-2005, 11:54 PM I need a good set up for ashpalt. I have the 12th scale HK9000 and will be running at daytona.........thanks pepe 03-03-2005, 07:27 AM What the H is a pro 3? I thought the shorty was the latest spawn? The pro 3 is not out yet, but it is the next HD to hit the market whenever all the kinks have been worked out,it's been in testing for a while now. MURDOCKRC 03-03-2005, 10:39 AM The pro 3 is getting closer guys. We should know a lot after this weekend. I will be running the car in my region 8 race and that should tell us if the bugs are all worked out or not. If they are I would look for the car fairly soon Rob @ Murdock R/C erock1331 03-03-2005, 11:08 AM Rob For the Pro3, did they ever decide to scrap the stand-offs & graphite cross peice and go with more of a KSG, CW, RIP, Maverick, type rear end setup, with an X shaped crossbrace? MIKE VALENTINE 03-03-2005, 12:53 PM erock1331 what do you think the advantage of that stlye cross brace is? erock1331 03-03-2005, 02:50 PM Wish I knew Mike. I was just curious how the Pro3 was developing...if it was gonna be drastically different or more of the same approach. Back when I ran the early Prototype Pro3, it was a 0700 slider car with a narrowed pod. MIKE VALENTINE 03-04-2005, 08:44 AM erock1331 I haven't been doing any of the testing, or designing of the pro 3 stuff. But it is along the lines of same approach, just next generation. I have been working on a different design, still in cad stage. But with less time due to personal problems, and the new baby. I haven't been able to finsih the layout, and even get to the track if I had a car done. I may have to let some others test it after I get the design done and sent to Barry. To bad you don't still run for HD, I still would like someone to test the reactive rear steer with t-plate, stuff that has been sitting here for months. MURDOCKRC 03-07-2005, 10:13 AM Just wanted to thank Hyperdrive for their support. My pro 3 car worked flawless this past weekend at my region 8 race. Qualified 3, finished third but had the car to beat in the main. That car was dialed and working flawlessly. Thanks Barry and Joe. Congrats to my Dad Bill Murdock on a heck of a run in stock with his sse pro2 st. Front row start and a great shot at the stock A. Things just didnt work out but that is racing How about Brittany Murdock and her 0700 in 19 turn. Couldnt make it on Saturday, showed up on Sunday with one run to make the show and set TQ mark early. It was topped by Mike Ryan in a later Qualifier by 2 tenths but in the Main, the tone went off and Brittany never looked back to take the REGION 8 19 TURN CHAMPIONSHIP by half a lap over some excellent cars and drivers. Rob @ Murdock R/C erock1331 03-07-2005, 10:34 AM Nice job to the Murdock crew Eric H. Tres 03-07-2005, 10:38 AM I second erock... Congrats Rob & crew.... I even got a TQ & win with my old Adren on Sunday.... adamliehr 03-07-2005, 03:03 PM Great Run Britt! Adam Liehr :dude: KenBajdek 03-07-2005, 05:42 PM How about some spy photos of the new Pro3? MURDOCKRC 03-07-2005, 06:06 PM Thanks everyone, we gave it a 110% effort and it paid off. I couldnt have been happier to field 3 cars, in three different classes and all of them starting in the top 3 positions. But, you still gotta give it up for little sister Brittany, she pulled off one heck of a win :) I will take a crack at getting shots of the pro 3 up tonight. The pictures wont show everything real clear as far as differences other than the biggest design change which is the pod. It is running great at this stage though. A lot was learned this past weekend by running some serious mod. The car is responding well. Some things are still in the works to make it better yet so be patient and I think something great will come of it Rob @ Murdock R/C BallisticBill 03-09-2005, 08:59 AM Rob Murdock's Hyperdrive Pro 3 Prototype Bandit Racing 03-09-2005, 12:32 PM Cool looking new HD ride, any projected release date? MURDOCKRC 03-09-2005, 01:09 PM At this time I would not look for it anytime soon. There are some other ideas in the works to further improve the performance and appearance of the car. With cap season approaching I think there will be some cap testing done as well to see where the car stands on caps as well as some more testing on flat carpet yet to come. The pod was used on caps last fall but not the whole car as it currently sits. But, as I have mentioned the car is coming along quite nicely and when it does hit the market it should be in very good form. Dont be affraid to update or get any of the current H Drive cars though. Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance Bandit Racing 03-09-2005, 01:21 PM Will the new designed rear pod fit on the current PRO2 or 0700 cars? MIKE VALENTINE 03-09-2005, 01:53 PM Bandit Racing currently it will only fit the slider with the optional battery trays with the speedo in the back. or it will fit the solid car in the non offset position. Bandit Racing 03-10-2005, 03:30 PM Thanks for the updates Rob, Mike & Barry, keep us posted on the progress, I can't wait until the new HD PRO 3 car is ready to go out the Chapel Hill garage. rcgen 03-10-2005, 08:46 PM So the only difference for the Pro3 is the pod? I currently run the 0700 and really prefer a slider. More tuning options as it pertains to battery placement. What type of tracks are the testing being performed on? MURDOCKRC 03-10-2005, 09:05 PM There are other differences that cannot be seen in a picture. The pod ofcourse is the most obvious but the rest of the car is different and other changes are currently in the works to further separate it from the 700 and pro 2 cars. Testing has been going on since late last summer with different parts and configurations but this winter is has been run on banked carpet and Flat carpet. this past weekend at my region 8 oval championships was its best run yet on flat carpet. The car responded very well to high bite conditions and very high speeds. I will be testing some other things this weekend in 19 turn and again in modified the weekend after that should tell us even more. The stability of the car is outstanding, and with the current work going on, the car should be very adjustable to a multitude of tracks and situations. As I have said the car should be very good when released. The develpment has certainly had it difficulties along the way but that is why these cars are tested. So when you buy them, they will perform as expected and needed. Rob @ Murdock R/C & Performance rcgen 03-10-2005, 09:20 PM Cool I can't wait....any testers in the NE Florida area I need to be looking out for ;) DK47 03-11-2005, 06:01 AM Rob,you like those body mounts? Mr.Presnell really does a nice job on them. MURDOCKRC 03-11-2005, 10:41 AM I do like the track attach body mounts DK. They hold the body in place real nice and most of the time I need a little weight anyway so the extra little bit there doesnt hurt. Rob @ MURDOCK R/C pepe 03-14-2005, 05:28 PM Saw a pro 3 run this past weekend on caps and it was plenty fast, had a field of KSG's covered easiley,of course this was with a team driver at the wheel. Humpty 03-14-2005, 05:37 PM Like that matters ......Wait till 2 weeks from now when the real fast capped guys show up ....lol ...Yall are racing in 2 weeks right ,....Its offroad this week then oval the next.....See Ya There ....Yall got outrun by the OLDGUY.....lol...See Ya Soon ... MURDOCKRC 03-14-2005, 06:19 PM Who told you I was coming to the races Humty. The fast guy coming was supposed to be a secret ;) tripleh2 03-14-2005, 08:51 PM I got to test the pro 3 this past week in 4 cell mod flat carpet about 120ft runline.the car was fast out of the box with only 3 practice runs before heats started i changed a few things to try.broke in the 1st heat.2nd heat ran 79L 402 just off track record by a second.(my brother ran 80L 401 TR).in the main i changed the car back my bro led started to pull away 2min in i started to catch him and passed him to win. ran an 80L 402 starting with 2.9 laps ended with 3.10.with a little more track time 81 will be in sight.this car is fast.Tanks barry keep up the good work. John H. pepe 03-15-2005, 07:39 AM Jeff, You and Stan are always fast,no matter what the car is,Come on down and show us some good ole HD horsepower.Old man huh! he sure was quick for an ol codger LOL.The 40 lap mark is still up for grabs,I think we'll see it this year,my guess it'll be with a HD. MIKE VALENTINE 03-15-2005, 08:33 AM tripleh2 good run guys. Glad to see you like the new car, I'll call you tonight. MV harringBONE 03-15-2005, 01:05 PM 80? you slacker! Shumacher 99 03-16-2005, 01:52 PM On the HK7007 T can you run the T-plate off set with the pod on center???? jajnmj 03-16-2005, 04:16 PM On the HK7007 T can you run the T-plate off set with the pod on center???? you can run either the symetrical or assymetrical t plate straight up or offset depending on your bottom plate and toplate, but the t plate it self cannot be offset such as a custom works or a maverick.... Shumacher 99 03-16-2005, 04:41 PM you can run either the symetrical or assymetrical t plate straight up or offset depending on your bottom plate and toplate, but the t plate it self is not offset such as a custom works or a maverick.... Cool thats' what I wanted to know...oh well  jajnmj 03-16-2005, 05:11 PM Don't let that be a drawback though, the car can still be a winner with the correct setup, also a very consistant car from week to week!!!!!! MURDOCKRC 03-16-2005, 06:30 PM As I read your post it appears to me your wondering if you can move the t plate from side to side as you can do with the CW car. You can not do this with the h drive cars. The pod can be offset as mentioned above with the offset or sym. t plate but the t plate does not have addittional holes to be moved left or right. Maybe I have read it wrong but I thought I would clarify that if that is what your were wondering Rob @ Murdock R/C Outlaw Racing 03-17-2005, 08:09 PM Just bought a HD Pro 2 Shorttie a couple of months ago and getting ready for the outdoor season. Does anyone have a setup for Coopers in Callands, VA to give me a starting point? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Shumacher 99 03-18-2005, 07:24 AM As I read your post it appears to me your wondering if you can move the t plate from side to side as you can do with the CW car. You can not do this with the h drive cars. The pod can be offset as mentioned above with the offset or sym. t plate but the t plate does not have addittional holes to be moved left or right. Maybe I have read it wrong but I thought I would clarify that if that is what your were wondering Rob @ Murdock R/C Yes that was what I was wondering.. The new 05 Maverick H.E. and the CW have this option. I know the people who are running those cars with the T- plate and Pod that way and on flat asphalt have an advantage IMO. It's newest latest and greatest thing...lol MACE 03-18-2005, 09:02 AM Have any of you put the MD dodge body on the 0700? I cant get it to fit. Loser!!! Matt Nothstein 03-18-2005, 09:18 AM I have, I even have the wide locator plates in the front and the tires do not come out of the wheelwells like the older Intrepid. MIKE VALENTINE 03-18-2005, 10:19 AM MACE I have been running them. Where are you having a problem? pepe 03-18-2005, 11:26 AM I think the Leading edge cars were the first cars to incorporate the off set T-plate. Fl Flash 03-18-2005, 11:30 AM Qoute from Dale Epp; Sorry if I messed anyone up with the "body mounting" issue on the new Dodge MD. I should have at least used this forum to give a few mounting tips. The fact that the body is a little lower appearing in the left front and higher in the right rear is designed into the mold. Its really nothing new. The Monte Carlo HD is also a little "squewed" as well. The real CUP cars have been getting increasingly as-symmetric for the last 4 or 5 years in spite of the fact that NASCAR adds more body templates every few months. The only place that the CUP cars are relatively symmetric from side to side is at the 2 restrictor tracks and the 2 road race tracks. The new Dodge reflects only some of the tricks used on the real Dodges. The fact that RC oval cars are allowed huge rear spoilers as well as elevated wings has influenced a few design features on this Dodge that are definitly not seen on the real Cup cars. MOUNTING TIPS: The lower trim line(s) are there to use as a reference for the final body position & attitude. This will mean that the body posts will be a little shorter on the left side. IF the rake (angle of attack - front to rear) is something that you might want to change for a given track or class (less rake for stock and 19T usually) these trim lines can still be used as an excellent reference to make the required changes. Just remember to do your "final" botton-edge trim once the body is screwed down and the car has the desired OD tires mounted. Remember to keep the bodies lower edges as close to the track as possible (without rubbing) and uniform all the way around. This will make for a more consistent "feel" from your car. The "ground effects" generated by oval rc cars is a rather crude in its nature, but it is definitely there, so always remember: a properly mounted body is critical to top performance. That is from the Protoform thread. I really like the Protoform MD Dodge and use it on both my cars ( 0700 and Pro 2 shorty ) On both chassis I move the front bumper all the way back to center the front tires in the wheel wells and move the rear mounts all the way in to clear the roof rails. The LF body mount will be approx 1/4" lower than the RF and the LR approx 1/8" lower than the RR. Bodys a little tuff to mount but is well worth the effort. :) Shumacher 99 03-18-2005, 11:32 AM I think the Leading edge cars were the first cars to incorporate the off set T-plate. Really humm I need to check those out then . thanks pepe 03-18-2005, 11:45 AM http://www.leadingedgerccars.net/index.asp MACE 03-18-2005, 12:37 PM Oops should have made it more clear. I have the front suspension mounted in the middle holes and the back short. The nose on the Monti is longer and I had no problems when I did that one. The nose on the MD dodge is shorter. Do I have to run the front long or am I missing some thing here. Thanks guys for the great info. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
