disruptor10 04-04-2004, 07:25 PM Nice run Hyperdrive guys ! AWESOME frank p. 04-04-2004, 09:45 PM Great job guys,. EROCK way to lay it down! Dusty Dean long time coming! later frank p. MobileMikeV 04-06-2004, 09:29 PM What will lowering the LF A-arm do on flat track? Thanks, Mike Voccola Tornado_Racing 04-08-2004, 10:14 AM You can add Brooks and myself the Hyperdrive team. We may run the PRO2 shorty this weekend at Sandhills. erock1331 04-08-2004, 10:16 AM Tony, I should have the rest of the setup for you this morning, I didnt forget about you, LOL Eric H. Tornado_Racing 04-08-2004, 10:18 AM SHHHHHHHHHHHHHh.......hush hush on the set up stuff. I want the guys to think we set the car up. lol lol lol Thanks EH on the set up stuff. When ever you get the chance. No rush. ACE 04-14-2004, 11:57 PM Thanks Adam and Frank............ Tony,,,you will like the pro2 shorty,,every track I have been on since I got this car in November I have ran my personal best,,110'tight flat track,160' wide flat track,120' slighty banked track and the high banks of classic.......... Dusty Dean erock1331 04-15-2004, 07:58 AM Thanks Adam and Frank as well. I agree with Dusty. Since switching to the shorty SSE2, I have had the same results. 3 Track records in stock. Car is just ballistic through the turns. Eric Hutkay burbs 04-15-2004, 09:20 AM the new shorty also seems to take a hit good...i was told it hit and kept on going for the win in the last main in 19t at akron... way cool erock1331 04-15-2004, 09:29 AM I know mine took a pretty bad hit in practice. Actually probably the worst T-bone accident I was ever involved in, the cars were litterally stuck together when I picked em up. I used the same car to win. No tweaked chassis or broken bumper. One slightly bent castor block was the only damage. The car is definately rigid that is fo sho. Bob Wright 04-15-2004, 06:19 PM What's the short wheelbase measurement for the new chassis. erock1331 04-15-2004, 09:32 PM The SSE Pro2 "shorty" chassis is 9 5/8 in the short position, like the old 510BT short chassis. In the long position its the same as the standard SSE2 chassis in its short position, right around 10". Barry Hill 04-15-2004, 09:35 PM Eric, that was not a RED caster block either, was it? LOL! :) barry erock1331 04-15-2004, 09:41 PM You know what, as soon as I posted that, I knew my balls were in for a little busting. I'll have to call ya and get some durable ones, he he Mike OBrien 04-16-2004, 04:51 AM ya whats up with that,,,,,,,,,,, thats like having a red suzuki LOL! JW Housley 04-17-2004, 03:00 AM Eric, you surely wansn't running "blue" stuff on a HD car were you??? Msey 04-17-2004, 10:01 PM Is the short chasis being used on long high banked tracks (300ft. +) or just short tight tracks? Tornado_Racing 04-18-2004, 09:13 AM Last night at Sandhills we ran the PRO2 shorty (w/short wheelbase) for the 2nd time in stock. With the other brand we could only go a 45 4:03 (47 4:02 track record). Last night we went a 46 4:02 twice. When the record was set it was around 60 degrees in the building so the track was really fast. Last night it was 85 degrees and track temp was around 90 or so. Prior to Roman running the 47 laps Eric Hutkey had the record at 46 4:00 which was set at the Memorial race in January with very cool temps as well. For the second time out and to run 2 seconds of a 47 lap run with a really hot track is kick azz. Brooks drove him butt off and we worked the race car all day long and at the end it paid off. I would like to give Mike Russell a really big thanks for his insight to the Hyperdrive car and chassis set up. Without Mike we would have been off in left feild all day long. Thanks a bunch to Mike and the whole Hyperdrive crew who have helped us past, present, and the future. Oh, and thanks to CupCake for his base line set up which we used to start the car off with. Thanks a bunch Eric.................. erock1331 04-19-2004, 08:18 AM Last night we went a 46 4:02 twice. When the record was set it was around 60 degrees in the building so the track was really fast. Oh, and thanks to CupCake for his base line set up which we used to start the car off with. Thanks a bunch Eric..................Your welcome, Good run Brooks !! Tony, sorry I missed your call, I was out of town this weekend. BRDRACING 04-19-2004, 08:20 AM Thanks Guys! Had a blast this past weekend! I am really looking forward to next season at Sandhills! Brooks pepe 04-19-2004, 08:48 AM Brooks time to get on them caps and get off the foams, caps are for real race cars. BRDRACING 04-19-2004, 09:38 AM PEPE you know me I like my cap tire racing! I feel at home on caps! LOL Plus with this new car it should be a good summer! Donnie_99 04-19-2004, 04:42 PM i still luv my hyperdrive great car great people to talk to. RuntRacing25 04-20-2004, 06:12 PM Broke track record in spec Tq'ed in spec and won spec....and in super spec broke track record by 3 seconds tqed and won...keep up great work barry... Brandon_25 team hd smc bulitmotorsports finishline kimbrough erock1331 04-21-2004, 08:02 AM Good job Brandon!!! Like we talked about yesterday, don't let what happened with the motor situation get you down. Just move on and keep up the good work. BRDRACING 04-21-2004, 08:07 AM Now if we can just get him off those Kimbrough gears LOL erock1331 04-21-2004, 08:12 AM I know, he would would broke the record by 5 seconds instead of 3, LOL BRDRACING 04-21-2004, 08:14 AM One day they will learn! HEHEHE TeamGoodwrench 04-21-2004, 04:05 PM Where would you guys draw the line as far as running the Pro2 "shorty" chassis in the "short-short" (9-5/8" ?) wheelbase vs long in front, short in back (10"?) ? I'm thinking in terms of caps outdoors -- not carpet -- concrete mildly banked track with long straights. Thx BRDRACING 04-21-2004, 04:06 PM Cap tires outdoors I would run the shory chassis in the long holes! TeamGoodwrench 04-21-2004, 04:08 PM Long in front AND long in back ??? hacksaw 04-21-2004, 09:00 PM How big is the track? most tracks short rear long front turns better if the track is bumpy I would go long and long!!!!!!!! Hacksaw RuntRacing25 04-21-2004, 09:07 PM lol eric.... Brandon_25 team hd smc bulit motorsports finishline kimbrough TeamGoodwrench 04-21-2004, 09:10 PM How big is the track? most tracks short rear long front turns better if the track is bumpy I would go long and long!!!!!!!! Hacksaw Track is 377 ft run line. Would I be better off with the regular SSE2 chassis plate -- short in back and short in front ?? I've got both plates. Last time there, I had the 0700 -- ran it short in back and middle wheelbase in front. Thx Tornado_Racing 04-22-2004, 07:18 AM We are just waiting on Barry's slow azz to get us the new car so Brooks can pound some walls down at Chattam this summer. We are really looking forward to running the PRO2 Shorty at Chattam with the Sandhills gang. Thanks to Mike Russell, Jeff Helms, and CupCake for all of their help with the new car! Thanks a bunch guys! erock1331 04-22-2004, 08:16 AM And I thought the "cupcake" nickname was gone. I always thought a shorter car turned harder. I know at Classic shorter cars always seem to do better than the long cars on the tight banking. Outside on our asphalt track (265' slightly banked) last season (I was running the blue car then), half the season short and half the season long wheelbase and I was faster in the short position. The car may be a bit more twitchy but if you can drive it, it was the way to go. In the long position the car felt more stable but a tick slower on the times. I had a conversation the other day with a buddy of mine and we concluded that if a certain wheelbase was faster, then everyone would be running it, which is not the case. So then it comes down to particular track/setup/driving style/ or preference. No one could believe I ran the shorty SSE2 in the short position at Sandhills but it worked. BRDRACING 04-22-2004, 08:21 AM That's right! I ran my shortie chassis in the short position at sandhills and was only 2 secs off of what you ran in Jan (46 4:02) and the track temp was 85 to 87 all day! Brooks BRDRACING 04-22-2004, 08:23 AM I would of never thought to run that car that short at Sandhills! LOL Tornado_Racing 04-22-2004, 01:01 PM For caps we are gonna run the long front instead of short. This should help the car be a tick more stable on the bigger track. TeamGoodwrench 04-22-2004, 01:03 PM Tony -- shortie chassis, long in front, and short in back ?? thx Tornado_Racing 04-22-2004, 01:10 PM That is correct. PRO2 shorty chassis with long up front and short on the t-plate. I will be building our new cap car this weekend for summer racing at Chattam. Every weekend Brooks runs the car he keeps getting more and more comfortable with the line and where he can put it. Now that Sandhills is just about done until next season, we will see if he can adapt as fast with the PRO2 on caps. Brooks has come along way in the last couple of months. I really feel he is going to do well this summer and next season at Sandhills. You guys at Hyperdrive keep up the great work! BRDRACING 04-22-2004, 01:12 PM Thanks for the nice Words Tony! I will let you know guys know Tony can build the heck out of a Race car! Makes my job of driving alot easier! Brooks rcgen 04-22-2004, 09:03 PM I picked up an used 0700 hyperdrive and was wondering what is the basic setup for the front wheels ie. short, long or in between. I just got back into oval racing and still using a 10lss. I am running on an huge flast aspault track w/slight banks in the turns. I also plan on running on a small concrete oval. I didn't realize all the available adjustments Thanks in advance Eugene RunninFree 04-23-2004, 08:14 PM Broke track record in spec Tq'ed in spec and won spec....and in super spec broke track record by 3 seconds tqed and won...keep up great work barry... Brandon_25 team hd smc bulitmotorsports finishline kimbrough RuntRacing when did you break the track recond and Tq in Spec? It was not at the State race because you did not even run in Spec.
