Can snyone tell me where to get parts fo rthe CRC clicker shock? The castle collar has a flat spot on the lip that sits against the bladder. I assume thats where the oil is getting by at. Push the shaft in and the oil just seeps out of the bleed hole.
Any help is appreciated.

I just put mine together and guess what? same problem.

Well after three hours of trying to get this thing to work it's in dept 6, my trusty HPI is back on the job.

pepe, another option is put your HPI piston and shaft in the CRC body. If you are running the red car, it looks better than the purple cap. That is what I am doing for the track I run on, different track I may have to try the clicker shock at another track.

Thanks barry I'll give it a shot,I actually did try to put the cap on the HPI for that very reason. One Question also, there is a 3" stick of graphite threaded on both ends with two screws in the kit, what is this for?

Barry Hill
06-05-2003, 09:20 AM
pepe, I have no idea off the top of my head. Where did you get the kit? Could you send a pic and maybe I can tell you.
what bag in the kit was the graphite piece in?

I think that piece is a brace for the front end. If you got the team kit it should have the red aluminum one in it also.

I think what you are talking about is the piece that you can put in the front end to keep the center of the hood from puching down and it keeps the body in shape. I mounts vertical in the middle of the "X" in the front end

I was very impressed with Barry @ Hyperdrive. I didn't expect to get to talk to anybody when I called. You don't get that anymore.

I'm tired of my L3O and I'm looking for something faster with more tuning options. I'm not sure if the Pro2 or the 700 is the way to go. The Pro2 has a slider and the 700 is the same car but one piece--right? Can you order the Pro2 with the 6 cell tray or does the kit have both 4&6 cell trays? I race on a very tight flat oval. Our running line is 115ft with 4 foot infield. The track is 11 feet wide. Steering is a big factor here!

Mike Wilson

Ken, The 0700 has the adjustable battery tray and the Pro 2 is the one piece chassis. Not sure of what tray comes with the 0700 being as I ordered the Pro 2 car myself. Someone will tell you though.

Actually the Pro2 is the one piece chassis and the 700 is the slider. Either one is a good choice.

i switched from the L3 to the 0700 and i have had nothing but great luck with the car if u need a car that will turn the 0700 or sse2 will be great. plus the hyperdrive team drivers will help you out if u ask.

I think the piece in question is the front end brace that goes between the castor blocks to reduce flex. Run the brace on flat tracks and leave it out on banked tracks.

The piece comes in the front end bag,way too long for the front. It does fit between my rear body posts though.

After looking it doesn't fit anywhere on the front end so I'll just hold on to it and try to come up with something. It's defintely too long to be a front end brace.

After trying everything to get this shock right I believe I am on to something. I thought about what Barry Hill said about putting the HPI Piston and shaft in the shock. I took the castle collar out of the shock cap and installed an old shock oring I found in my box, then the bladder. Filled the shock with oil, bled and reinstalled everything and voila No Leak. Its more like an adjustable piston HPI now i guess, But it works.

Is it just me or this shock defective? I can't get enough oil to in it to make it smooth. Most of the oil leaks out while threading the cap on. Once the cap is tight it doen't seem to leak. Any help. I'll probably throw it away and go back to the macro vcs if doesn't work right.

this is where I'm at with it.Or if you still can't get it to work take the purple anodizing off the HPI and it will look good with the red, actually I would like to get the cap anodized red on the HPI? Barry is this possible?

Barry Hill
06-11-2003, 08:52 AM

I just got my SSE Pro 2 Team car. I have a few questions on set up. I noticed 3 different widths for the front end. Wider takes away forward bite and narrow give you more bite. But what about making the right wide and the left narrow? Does this accomplish the same thing as moving the rear pod to the left? And the t-plate mounting question--buy using the forward holes (shorter wheelbase) this will make the car turn better?? I have never had a car with this many tuning options. I would like to know what to expect when I change these things. The other cars I've had only had one t-plate and 2 wheel base lengths. So I can't wait to get out there and see what happens.

Barry,
Can I get my macro vcs shock body anodized red to match the vcs shocks? I didn't have any luck with the clicker shock holding oil.

Hyperdrive SSE Pro 2's takes top 4 spots at the Region 3 champs at BMS. 1st. Mike Russell 2nd. Jeff "Humpty" Helms 3rd. Eric Anderson 4th. John "BSR" Foister.

In 19 turn Pro 2 took 2nd and 3rd by Stewart Whitiker and Rick Leihr.

Great job guys

Eric, we will be strong at the nats this year, all the hyperdrives were running good and will only get better, it was a great preview show to the upcoming nats at BMS this year, tell barry to send more kits to BMS because I have a feeling their will be some racers switching mfg!!! :D

First I would like to say Congrats and Thanks to all the Hyperdrive guys at BMS this weekend, you all done one hell of a job.

Everyone check out the AUGUST issue of R\C CAR mag, our 0700 team kit, SSE PRO2 team kit, and the new 1\12 oval kit got 1 1\2 pages. I want to thank everyone at HI-TORQUE PUB.\R\C CAR for showing support for oval manuf. and oval racin.

Ken, yes you can get the Macro shock anodized red.

Ken, brings up a good point, we were going to go with the Associated threaded TC3 shock and have the anodized red but thought the clicker shock would be a better choice, it does not seem that was the case, so give me some feed back as to should we go with the TC3 shock body when it is time to reorder? I need your input.

I would start with the 1\4 degree rear steer plate. It will make the car go through the corner better, the more you are able to run the more the car will whip through the corner. If 1\4 works and is not too much then try 1\2.

thanks
barry

The first CRC Clicker shock I got was great but this last one was trash. I have been seeing alot of people running the HPI shock alot too. What do you think about putting a HPI shock in the kit.

WOW!!!! What a weekend. Great job TEAM HYPERDRIVE! I have never seen such a group of people work so hard to make EVERYONE fast before in my years of racing. Thanks to Humpty for the lesson on car setup. Mike Russell great job on your win and the countless hours on the phone.... (but you better to Kenny to send you some what Jeff was running). Stewart thanks for all the help this weekend. Keep up the hard work and I think it will pay off. Eric and Barry thanks (I think) because Adam's mouth never stopped for the 7 hours back home unless he was sleeping. I have never felt so proud to be racing for such a FIRST CLASS team before. Lets keep it up cause I'm sure August won't be easy. Well I'm going to stop but I could go on. I hope I didn't forget anyone but if I did thanks you know who you are.

Those going to BMS in August you better take your SSE PRO 2 and if you don't have one you better get one. I'm sure anyone at the track will help you with car setup.

couple of questions....

first, i heard some talk of a new lightweight center shock mount (i think Mike V posted it here). any word on availability yet?

second, any plans for a new car design to be out in the fall? starting to go thru my stuff to get ready for the indoor season, and i am debating on getting a pro SSE 2 conversion for my 0700, or to wait and see if a new car design is in the works......
