View Full Version : Lightning Brake Arm and Pad
jbrooks39 03-27-2009, 11:54 PM I am looking to find a price for a Lightning Brake Arm and Pad. I am not sure if these are sold separately or together; however I know the pads are sold as replacements.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

I have what i made for Larry Cross. Not sure if they are the same.If they did not change them it should be close. I will go Jeff's site to see if there is a pic there. No hope there no pics.I will take pic of mine.If you can use it i will send you one.It seems like no one has parts on websites anymore. Thats strange.

Does it use a shoulder bolt or a bushing on which to pivot?
Looks very nice; like Jeff said, very similar to the Lightning.
If you would like to send one, I would gladly accept one. :)

Joe i use a brass bushing. This way the brass and aluminum cannot gall up or bind. The bushing is about .015 thousants longer than the width of the arm. This way the when you tighten the bolt. The head of the bolt bottoms out againist the bushing. I will look to see if i have any bushings made.
Jeff a few years back the arm OAL was shorter. When i started making parts for Larry. He wanted the arm longer. The lenght is 3.940.Let me know what you have.

Ed and Jeff-
I would be curious about OAL as well. I received an arm from Butch Smith at our local track, but the OAL is very short (I'll have to measure it and get back to you). A longer arm would be better for my needs.
