I've herd some talk about Monday being the race day for dirt oval.

what classes is everyone running ?

I propose/ but i don't have the final say :

1/10th scale slidder .... same rules as carpet, but wing on top ...same tires

slash..... stock everything...change battery connectors and reciver and controller

1/18th ..... run what ya brung

other classes i don't know rules on

how many of the slider guys are going to be able to run on monday nights? stinks I won't be able to.

I can make most any night but I'll have to get another car - may be awhile for that.

I'd suggest looking at the Slash rules that are posted at Indy Slots for the off-road class and copying those. More guys will be able to race that way.

A wednsday or thursday would work better for me.

yeah tuesday and wednesday are the only days I can do it.

Slots has good programs already running on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

There's no tracks in the area that runs a Monday program...I like it.

I'd like to see an open Sprint class so my CW/B4 Sprint can show those Losi's what's up.

I'm up for a Slash class on Mondays too...just let me know the rules package before race day.

Running on Monday would be three oval nights in a row at Indy Slots.

I believe Slots is closed on Mondays unless Doug is changing his hours. I'll be running in the Slider class on any day but Monday...I have school on Monday nights.....Yeah thats right they do offer 7th grade night school on Mondays....LOL....

doug is open on mondays last I heard, practice for the oval.

do you think we will be able to get a racing program in outside during the week before it starts getting dark???

The way Indiana weather is,most out door dirt ovals really don't start running their seasons until the end of April/beginning of May.

That being said,lets take a look at the sunset times for a few Mondays and see.

It looks like a nice 15 week window that we could run a 10-12 week summer series on Monday nights.Of coarse the classes will have to be limited...3-5 classes max.
-Spec Slash,Spec 10th scale slider,10th scale Open,18th scale Open
(that should cover everyone)
3 heats & a main,2 minutes between heats...start at at 6pm & don't waste time between rounds.

Mondays are good for me. dont care if its wings or not . I PERSONALLY dont think 13.5 is going to be fast enough out doors on dirt think 10.5 would be better. haven't race dirt oval since 1995 in Mitchell running sprint cars with Tony Stewart.. or maybe it was up ay Kokomo back in 96.. when it was.. it was a long time ago.. still kicking it around Jerry!!!

The Track as it is named is about a block or so past the city park in center of North Vernon. The city park is where they race in the summer. Sorry I don't have the street name, only been there a time or two. Straight south to Mount Vernon and turn left when you get to main intersection in town.

They have a section on dirtoval.com in the Events and Tracks section that might have more info. I would look it up but must leave for a basketball tourney in Ohio.

I found my notes from last trip. South on Highway 3 to North Vernon, turn left at intersection with Highway 7. Pass McDs on your right, then a couple of blocks and park on your left, then the Track is down the street a little farther.
