I almost forgot how much fun I had building and lighting this kit.

that shot from below looks way cool.

I'm not sure the undersea ledge with astroturf works, but hey, it's the Fantasy World of Irwin Allen!

Is this lit with a lighting kit, or are those simple x-mas type lights glued in?

Either way, looks very impressive to me! Great job!

Sincerely,
Scorp.

I used battery powered christmas leds. To light the sail and rear fins I used fiber optic cable to light the nav lights and compass binnacle, and to carry the light to the fin tips.
Thanks! I had a ball building this one. The astroturf?...I looked at that going where did I shoot that?
It's the edge of the slotcar track...and I have no short term memory...yikes.

If you look closely at the above shot you'll see the white masthead light on the top of the sail.

Thanks! No they have to share...lol. It's tough finding a place to put these big models and since I've already taken over the second bedroom with this track I don't get much sympathy...

I was so worried about messing with the circuits that I left all the lights in the strand!
the ones I didn't need/use were wrapped in electrical tape...

At least you have a second bedroom.;) I went from a three bedroom house to a one bedroom Apt.. But I made a killing on the sale of that house, so I will find a place for my builds. This is my paint booth,LOL....:p It's "state of art"....
