TJETDRAGRACER 03-25-2009, 09:45 AM My AW 1964 Dodge 330 ~ Lowered on a JL chassis with aurora t-jet axles. For the new people, New to customizing there is a lot more to it then just shaving the post, you have to take out the windows and shave them also so the chassis gears will not bind up by hitting the trunk area. Just practice on some old runner bodies first. ~ Also in the pics are my, lowered green 62' Chevy and a pro stock Chevy Vega in the barn.
22tall 03-25-2009, 11:38 AM Nice lowering job. The chevy looks really nice. The designers at AW should look at some old tjets and see how glass should be implemented. They still have the diecast mentality of glass design. They could save weight and give themselves more chassis room.
slotcarman12078 03-25-2009, 12:42 PM The lowering job is cool, but what is really blowing me away :freak: is the landscaping work on the diorama!!! Your grass/ gravel work is incredible!!! Especially the 3rd and 4th pictures!! WOW!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
roadrner 03-25-2009, 12:52 PM Would agree, nice job getting those bodies down and customized. Interesting fact, you just won't realize how much you can and have to remove when you start lowering a JL/AW body, especially some of the windshields. :eek:
:thumbsup::thumbsup: rr
bumpercar88 03-25-2009, 03:23 PM That's a sharp looking Dodge, I'm not gonna try to run w/ it when the light turns! Like the diorama, makes me feel like grabbing a 12 pack and some wrenches and stopping by.
joez870 03-25-2009, 04:00 PM Great looking cars!:thumbsup:
How about some pics of them nose to nose with unaltered clones?
The comparo should be interesting.

Yeah, is that Scott's Turf Builder?
WesJY 03-25-2009, 06:34 PM Nice mopar car man!!! :thumbsup:

1976Cordoba 03-25-2009, 06:37 PM Nice flocking job. :thumbsup: YES that's a technical term. :freak:
The cars look sweet and I need to try that on one of mine sometime but something else always seems to bump it down the priority list a bit.
win43 03-25-2009, 08:15 PM Nice....Looks much better lowered a bit.
Mexkilbee 03-26-2009, 03:54 PM It is a nice lowering job, no dobt. But it's funny that the rockers are still above the center line of the axles, in 1:1 that would be an 8" lift kit stuck under that car. The windows for the most part are to blame, when will AW realize it would be cheaper to put mass produce lexan winshields in than wasting 3 times as much on clear palstic. I like "Glass" but Tomy has it right by molding the windshield with the body and painting it black, which is nice to, but glass is better by far. Most of my AW and MM sport the lexan glass stolen from obscure product packages right from the get go. If you start looking you'd be surprised how many products come on blister packs that if you cut here or there you end up with a great allready formed piece of lexan for a windshield.
IMHO
The grass is nice but I think the body parts on the side of the barn really "Set the sene".
Again nice job on car and Diorama.
