Hi guys. I haven't been on this site in quite a while....life ya know! LOL I'm sure some of the oldies like Hankster will remember. Well, I left thwe hobby bout 5 years ago and now my daughter wants into it. I got her an old Stampede w/ the original 20 turn stinger motor and the XL-1 speedo. The speedo has given up on reverse and she wants a bit more speed now. I have been looking at the BL setups on e-bay and really don't want to invest 150.00 + into an old truck with a novice driver. Can anyone suggest a low cost BL solution to my problem? Also, I am new to these new LIPO batteries. Is it necessary to use LIPO's with a brushless setup or can standard NiMh packs be used? Thanks for any input. Who knows....maybe I'll get back into drivers seat too. I'm impressed with some of the reported speeds people are getting with electrics now. Maybe we can do away with nitros and help the planet! :-)

Plus there is a guy on Dirtoval.com selling a hand wound Trinity Cobalt 19T motor for $10 shipped. So for $50 you've got a new ESC and a very nice motor.

Still haven't decided between a VXL Pede or a brushless E-Maxx for myself. I like the 4WD idea....got lots of places to let her rip here in the country!
