View Full Version : he shoots, he scores....
jefferson 03-24-2009, 08:56 PM Popped into my local Target on teh way back from the post office and scored two new Lotus Europas.... SWEET doesn't even begin to cut it. I had a hard time getting the paint to "pop" in my camera phone pics but if you see one in person you'll see what I'm talking about. gimme a minute to get the pics up:rolleyes:
dragonhead00 03-24-2009, 08:59 PM Check the lower side panel. Is the chrome dark or normal. Apparently, there is a "erroration" (we'll see how many there are) to the Lotus Europa. Congrats on the find.
JasonZ 03-24-2009, 09:36 PM That's one of my new favorite castings. Congrats.

drummingbulldog 03-25-2009, 08:32 AM one of my fav superfast castings is back...
Lummox 03-25-2009, 10:00 AM Now that's a nice piece....an old car done right.
More along the lines of what some of us old crusty types like. :)
And speaking of old and crusty, ;) Mick - do you still see these knee-high Europas slithering around your island over there???
AQUA XK8 03-26-2009, 07:36 AM Someone in my area is buying them all.:( I have yet to see one on a peg and I've looked in many stores. I hope they become more common as time goes on.

I spoke too soon. I went out this morning and found 2 Lotus'. But still, they are scarce in my area.
I do like how they made the chassis the same color as the car, thus allowing the car parts under the front and rear bumpers to match the main car color. They did this with the Jag XKE too. Very well done.
GeraldE61 03-26-2009, 03:10 PM Wow great detail and paint
sschevyman1 03-26-2009, 04:45 PM Congrats to you,thanks for showing!!!!!!!!

They are made of fibreglass so Europas never get crusty:wave: There is a black one that I see here on the roads in the summer - a very low car......
Mattel has really scored a homerun with this one, and the paint is a perfect match for the first run which were lighter blue than subsequent runs - its a good bet that hot pink will be the 2nd colour issued as a further mark of respect to Lesney
See the paint shade on my Lesney colour chart - 10/10 well done Mattel:)
