You are receiving this email ?because you have purchased one of our STEVE CANYON products in the recent past. This is just an update on the status of THE COMPLETE STEVE CANYON ON DVD VOLUME 2 DVD which some of you have pre-ordered. For those of you that don't follow the news on our blog (see address below), this is to fill you in on the same details (and a few more than we've actually made public) concerning the delay in finishing Volume 2.
Yes, Volume 2 is late. There are several reasons for this. The main one being we have had to wait on the availability of several of our "star" commentators due to illness involving hospitalization (and other health related factors). Everyone is all right, but we just haven't been able to complete the commentaries (that MUST go on Volume 2) until this week. These commentaries we have for Vol 2 are SO GOOD and interesting that I think you will be amazed at the amount of information and anecdotes there are.??
We have also spent some time in investigating improvements in the picture and sound quality, and we want to thank everyone for their kind comments and praise for our work thus far. We want everyone to have the best experience possible enjoying STEVE CANYON.
The final issue is money. Pre-orders on Volume 2 have been less than a third of what they were for Volume 1...probably due to the economic scare going on at present...but at this level there is concern we might not recoup our expenses on the whole project (which are considerable). ?And what that really means is that we and our property are personally at risk at this point. Sad but true.
What we really need?at this juncture is for those that are able to pre-order Volume 2 to do so now instead of putting off and waiting until it is finished and released within the next several weeks. YES, it will be done and shipped (and so will the remaining Vol 3 this summer), there is no question of that, so have no fear...and every one of you that have ordered from us since the beginning we THANK YOU heartily for your support.
Those of you that have posted plugs?and links to our website we appreciate tremendously, it has helped a lot...and any of you that have the time and inclination to spread the word for a worthy cause, feel free to pass along our website address (below) with our gratitude. I find it hard to believe (from sales of our DVDs) that there are only hundreds of fans of the TV series, and not THOUSANDS...and perhaps with your help we can reach a few of them that just haven't heard about our project...yet!
This has been a learning experience for us as well and we understand now why some of the major DVD companies and studios are reluctant to publish advance release dates!??In any event, we should be finished and shipping within the next few weeks, hopefully before the end of March (depending on how fast we get the discs back from the factory). Thanks again for your patience and we promise it will be well worth the wait.
