well I am currently looking to get my son into r/c trucks. I have all nitro trucks, but am looking to get electric for him. the ones I am looking at are the losi highroller, hpi wheelie king, or maybe the stampede. although i am not a big fan of traxxas. He has driven my losi aftershock MT a few times(after some limiting of the throttle !!) he was loving the big truck feel. He is 6 years old right now, so I am looking for something he can learn with and so on. If any of you have thoughts on these choices, i am welcome to them.

alot of guys are getting the kids into r/c here also, 90 percent of them are going with the stampede, good beginner truck, easy to find parts, that or go with the slash, get one for 200.00 out the door and they are very easy to handle, more so than the stampede. goodluck and let us all know what you decided.

I'd get the Slash..It's relatively cheap.....has a ton of upgrade parts, and looks like a 1:1 CORR race truck....

I'd say the Stampede. It's tough and gives you the big truck feel. The Slash is also a good choice.

well, after showing the choices to my son, he likes the look of the stampede, and it looks fairly simple to fix, maintain, and upgrade. plus he thinks the bodies look cool. so I ordered him one and it should behere soon. thanks for the replies, i might just have to get an electric one to play with him too !!

i figured he would like the stampede, its jacked up and looks cool!!! that what all the kids want, as long as it looks good. he will like it, tell him he made a good choice, but if you get one, get a slash!!!! in 6 months he will want one to. thanks for keeping us updated.

I would suggest something durable like traxxas stampede, rustler, or the bandit. Personally, I would go with the rustler if it was my son. Tranny is super tough (w/ the metal internals), stock arms are nice and thick, and fairly cheap if you find a good used one.

well everyone, my son absolutely loves his stampede. He wants to drive it every time we go outside. I have ramps set up all over my back yard and he jumps it like no tomorrow. I must say it will take quite a beating. the only thing that has happened after about 8 runs is that the shock cap popped off twice on him, after coming up short and landing on the sandbox. but quick fix and he is back on his way. i have a video of him messing around on youtube.

now if more kids could get into rc and not so much of the video games
we'd have alot less problems.
Looks like he's having a blast :)

1. I have that same swingset

2. That kid drives better than me!!

Good move on the traxxas !! They take a beating. Not to mention in a couples years if he can handle that wait till you give him a higher end rc car/truck.
