Those wheels are positively Jada-esque. And not in a good way. :(
72challenger 03-18-2009, 01:01 PM Wow! Don't care for the sky hoods, but they have more than made up for it with this release. I love the rims ala the pro-touring look. And the Daytona with the light buckets in the up position - that has to be a first.
If the quality issues have been addressed, Castline could be taking a major piece of Greenlight's market share. Especially considering that Castline is distributed by all the major retailers.
harristotle 03-18-2009, 01:26 PM Besides the wheels, it's a good looking release. I'm kind of glad there aren't any Mustangs in this release, gives me a chance to save up a little lol. I like the open lights on the Daytona.
Any word on when we'll be seeing the Boss 429???
FLOYDFROG 03-18-2009, 02:55 PM Those wheels are positively Jada-esque. And not in a good way. :(
Exactly  Great looking cars in great looking colors. They should have kept those wheels & tires on those Stretch-Rods. This was the one line that I was really looking forward to collecting but.............. Sky hoods & now these wheel/tire combos??? Seems that M2 is going in the wrong direction rather quickly. If factory-correct white-lettered tires are too expensive to produce, why not put on a set of steelies/dog dish hub caps?
The cars look really nice M2, but I'll pass on this line until they have a decent set of wheels & tires. :(
1 Stop Diecast 03-18-2009, 03:23 PM Don't you just love America, There is something in it for everyone.
Funny how people love or hate something. personally I have been waiting for these wheels to be on the Detriot-Muscle cars since I saw the prototype 4 months ago!
I love the stance and the way they look, pure agressive muscle the way it was intended!
But that's what make it a great world that we can have different likes and dislikes and still have a hobby to enjoy.
Have Fun,
Fred

I'm not a fan of the wheels. However, it is good to see raised white letter tires. These should have been used on the cars from the last release instead of the redlines.
Lummox 03-18-2009, 06:43 PM The wheels ain't to my taste either, but if some people like'm then more power to ya!
jefferson 03-18-2009, 07:19 PM HOLY DEEP DISH Batman!!!! I like 'em.... they already did "stock" versions, now something a little more flamboyant.
You guys can always do a wheel swap.... they're easier to do than most.

This is true. I took one apart the other day and it doesn't seem to be too difficult. Of course, doing wheel swaps means finding donor cars.
Atencio 03-18-2009, 10:23 PM I'll pass on these with the exception of the Daytona with headlights up. Not crazy about the colors, the wheels, nor the castings for that matter. My mom would just say "picky, picky, picky."
alex1485 03-19-2009, 01:03 AM I thin the rims are too big (look to be about 17 or 18" scale rims)
FastC6Vette 03-19-2009, 01:12 AM Finally, a Daytona to match my dad's real 1:1! I thought they would come out with it eventually. I wish it had Magnum 500's, but still looks cool. The open headlights are a great idea.
BluntFronts 03-19-2009, 01:56 AM I can stomach the 442 & Daytona wheels, I guess, but the Super Bee's are dangerously close to the awful HW wheels of the similar style.
I don't know what they're called, but they spoil even the nicest HWs that they're on.
I had no idea that they were supposed to represent something that actually exists in 1/1.
Roy Nakamura 03-19-2009, 06:26 AM Fred....thanks for the preview. I'm with you here...Castline has offered something for all Muscle Car collectors. You can choose your preference. Not a fan of Wave 4 Castings...but I do like wings and spoilers ;)
I personally like the offset rims. Yes they aren't stock...but are representative of what high end builders are doing in the automotive world.:dude:
...Oh wait...Ohhhh...me likie the Olds 442. I know 99% of the collectors here will disagree with me on this one...but as a HW Redline collector I'd love to see this casting painted in the classic "Staff Car" deco.
72challenger 03-19-2009, 09:40 AM but the Super Bee's are dangerously close to the awful HW wheels of the similar style.

Then you'll leave the chrome one on the peg should you come across it, right? :)
Pewter02WS6 03-19-2009, 10:53 AM the colors in this set are sweet! the two olds will definitely be added to my collection. i like the wheels on the olds and daytonas but i have mixed feelings about the ones on the bee although they certainly wouldn't stop me from buying a casting i collect. wheel swaps are a piece of cake on these if they bothered me that badly. besides that, i don't know why anyone would pass on a nice piece of diecast just because of the wheels.:freak: lastly..... that chase daytona is absolutely sweet!!!!
pontiaccrest 03-19-2009, 11:07 AM WHERE ARE THE PONTIAC'S:confused:
Lummox 03-19-2009, 11:20 AM I'm axiously waiting for a M2 Stretchrods Muscle Car series based on the above castings.
Who's with me here?!?!?
- A. B. Surd -
stretchdog 03-19-2009, 11:31 AM Im lovin the Daytona And The Olds. Wheels and all. Im gonna have to get those :)
plankowner 03-19-2009, 12:16 PM Finally! A set of M2's that I would consider buying. The Olds' in this set looks great!
sheldon 03-19-2009, 03:59 PM I actually like these quite a bit... I will get ALL of them!
The only series I do NOT like so far are the stretch rods, but of course many of you do like them and they obviously have their place in the market for their uniqueness.
I still think M2 should redo the Mustang to a more palatabe size, being mindful that in addition to the oversize casting the wheels are way out of proportion on their current casting. The olds 442 is also somewhat too large, but since it is NOT nearly as important a casting as the Mustang, got a pass.... but it is still a better casting in representing the real olds 442 over the Mustang which is M2's only *big* mistake so far..... and yes, the 32 Ford is also a big oversized mess, but I guess people did NOT notice....
i think this case is sick as hell and it just might be the first case of M2's i purchase thanks for the pictures.
found the chrome chase car this morning at walmart and it was the 1970 super bee
looks good
72challenger 04-24-2009, 09:53 AM Congrats!
dipstick 05-13-2009, 09:07 PM Just found these at retail - must say that I like the custom rims. Like the depth of them on the 442! ON the bad side the closed windows both me for some reason.
