So I went to my local train shop looking for 1/128 scale people for the inside of my Seaview. Eight guys included in the kit and six of those sitting are just a skeleton crew. The only humans I found close to that scale were HO scale children. And they look pretty goofy with shorts and jump ropes, and holding a puppy or a lolipop. Any chance Moebius could send us a few extra figures from the short shot sprues, if we mail order a few bucks their way. (hint, hint). MP

....People who need people......:freak:

Look for N scale railway figures. The Seaview is an odd scale that doesnt match with any particular model or railway scale, but N is close. The kit figures arent particularly good either as the heads on the standing ones are too big as are the feet. Some of the sitting guys dont sit properly under the consoles either.

Hmmm... There are a few older plastic kits that are 1/128 scale, old sailing ships and airplanes, but I don't know if any of them came with crew figures. I looked into 15mm gaming figures (translates to roughly 1/120 scale), but the only ones I could find looked clunky - and covered in armor and weapons :)
I will look into N scale, but it seems to me they would be too small...

I just ordered the new Revell Germany 1/144 scale Flecther destroyer kit. If it comes with a few USN sailor figures and they size up as close enough to the Seaview, I will get my pal at G Factor to cast a bunch of them in brass. And I expect Preisler models to release a crew for that new kit as well, since they make a set of German sailors for 1/144 scale U boats already. The guys that come with the Seaview have heads the size of watermelons! :drunk: MP

These are Preisler 1/144 scale NATO aircraft guys. Maybe they would work.

Hang on to the Seaview's crewmembers just in case they ever make some Gerry Anderson vehicles in the same scale! They're a nice extra, but I'm afraid the one weak point in an otherwise excellent kit. I'm planning to use Preiser people.

Honestly even with lights you cant see a whole lot. If you put the figures more or less up front and centered they are fine.
