The Lost Black Bandits Collection is a series of Code 3 GL Cars that Ralph of Ralph's Customs made for me on request this week. Since the Black Bandits are one of my favorite GL releases I commisioned Ralph to create some cars that were never produced for this line.
As we know the 1/64th Scale Black Bandits started with a six car release that featured Green Machines with Green Bodies. GL asked us to vote on what the Green Machine Characteristics should be for this line starting with Release Two and we voted for Green Hubs and Base. Ralph has taken the Six Release One Black Bandit Regular Versions and painted their hubs and bases Green for me. Each car will also have a number 1 stamped on the base which I think is pretty cool.
The Second Black Bandit Promo car was the 68 Mustang Fastback 2+2. The Green Machine was supposed to feature Green Hubs and Base as well as Green Hood Stripes and Green side pinstriping on the car. The factory made an error and produced the Green Machines with just the Green Hood Stripe
and Green side Pinstripes. Ralph has taken a regular version and painted the Hubs and Base Green for me.
Lastly, the new 1/24th Scale Black Bandit Release did not feature a Green Machine version of the Shelby Mustang. Ralph has painted the Hubs and Base Green for me on a regular version of this Mustang.
My thanks to Ralph for making The Lost Black Bandits a reality for me. They will make an excellent addition to my Black Bandit Collection. I am very happy with how these turned out. The Chevelle is especially cool. The rims are Torque Thrust Type; but when they are all black they do not stand out. They really stand out in Green. The 429 Stang is the Reno Diecast Regular Version which has different rims than its Green Machine Counterpart.
