Why was it deleted? I saw no reason at all for that thread to be removed.

It was the only hopping thread going in the last few days, but I would say it was the cusing being written out.

Top 10 reasons the thread was deleted:

10) NASCAR was secretly taken over by Al Qaeda in a seemingly effective attempt at annoying the folks who present the most danger to them - gun-toting southerners with chips on their shoulders.

9) Brian France threatened to sue the Forum moderators over every unlicensed use of NASCARs trademarks.

8) Theresa Earnhardt threatened to sue the forum moderators because of the un-authorized references to Dale Earnhardt in several of the messages.

7) The IRL wanted to post a rebuttal concerning the disparaging remarks made about their racing genre, but nobody that follows (or has followed) NASCAR is interested in anything those losers have to say about anything. Once realized, they threatened to sue the forum moderators citing the "Fairness Doctrine".

6) Formula-1 drivers decided that they "don't get no respect" in the US, and they're eager to make an example of someone - anyone. They successfully had the thread removed citing the DMCA - folks have finally realized that F1 is nothing more than a guys following each other around the track in pre-determined sequence. What pushed them over the edge (and the reason for the DMCA cite) was when someone leaked the "no passing allowed" rule.

5) The FIA realized that their effort to bring NASCAR under their wide-reaching umbrella was being damaged by all the anti-NASCAR rhetoric exhibited in the thread, so they threatened to sue the forum moderators.

4) Uninteresting Racecar Bodies, Inc, has finally grown tired of the continual satirical and sarcastic replacement of their trademark name "Car of Tomorrow". The use of the term "Crap On Tires" has prompted them to file a lawsuit in their home state of Kansas to purge the internet of these disparaging names. Persistent tornado activity in the area prevents the suit from moving into the discovery stage, so the forum moderators probably just laughed this one off.

3) ERTL somehow understood the thread to contain defaming discussions regarding their crappy diecast, and complained. To keep the word "crap" and "Racing Champions" from being used in the same sentence too many times, they decided not to file a law suit - this time.

2) The moderators were aghast at the realization that Toyota has been allowed to field cars in NASCAR, and deleted the thread in utter disbelief.

1) Somebody got all huffy and said "darn it" in one of the messages.

I didn't see any cussing, must have been after my last post, cuz the thread was gone the next morning. Too bad people can't discuss something without feeling the need to be juvenile and use profanity. Would be nice though for the deleter to simply edit the offenders post rather than just trash the entire thread.

I LOVE your top 10 reasons Jsimmons! LOL.

I would completely agree with editing or deleting anyones post that feels the need to use profanity, but to delete the entire is thread imo was a bit rediculous.

In this case, it's called private ownership. There is no "free" speech on a private web site, just the freedom TO speak. We all agree to abide by a code of conduct (the TOS rules) and that is the glue that keeps it all together. It's not like you did’ent already know that, but hey, I was on a roll!:p

All that said, I do wish the whole thread had not been removed. There was some interesting thoughts going on in that one.

And by the way, if I had not already said it, welcome aboard Sliced Bread, were glad your here!

And I agree, I laughed my butt off at Jsimmons top ten. I even thought about sueing!

The thread was taking a nasty turn in the last few posts. If you want to start it again great. I did receive some complaints about the previous thread. Keep it friendly and no trashing each other.
