I'd love to run across a few (or all) of those.
The ones produced today suffer by comparison

Beautiful works of art yes indeedy:hat:
I see the current economic woes are keeping customers out of Karlīs servos -lets hope you dont have to lay off the workers and that some more cars drop by for gas & service
One VW main dealer folded here last month and a guy i know who works for a Citroen main dealer says there has been hardly any work for anyone to do beyond sweeping up this year at his workplace.......

 Typical! Here you go moking me for not having enough cars on my display! In fact I had a very nice Trojan van in one of the Esso garages, but out of my good heart I gave it to a crazed englishman

hey anyone ever possess (or still does) a Matchbox ferryboat?

The Ferryboat sets (digging from memory, I think there were two, a civilian and a millitary) came later in the Superfast era in the 70's.

Until recently my focus has been on the 50s and 60s so I haven't got it - yet  they are very cool sets and still affordable.

Still got mine, but no box.
Have the four cars with boxes though. My old man would sneakilly throw stuff out on me!

Which cars did you get? I already had a Capri which was pictured on the ferrybox, but mine contained a 51 Citroen SM towing a no9 Boat with a 32 Maserati Bora (lovely casting) and Datsun 126X (never my cup of tea). My parents were rather good about junk - as long as I packed it away I could keep it, and cleaning my room was part of the pocket money deal, so I only threw away what I thought I didnt want, like my Lesney book Mike & the Modelmakers and the wonderful Hotwheels redline design cars stencils set when I left home:o

Lemme see...um...#31 Beach bomb, #14 Iso, #9 Das Boat unt Trailer, oh, and #21 Mazral.
I think that's right.
I wonder how consistant they where with including certain cars. #9 was prolly consistant(???).

From a similar thread on that other American forum some way back, the no 9 boat was included as long as Lesney still had some stock, with any tow hook car and any 2 other cars , although no trucks were reported

I've been looking off & on for the ferry boat (civilian model) since 1979, drove my aunt crazy too....she lives in a larger city than I grew up in & asked her constantly if she saw the Matchbox ferry boat in any stores....I saw one on ebay, maybe I'll bid on the next one I see, would be a nice addition!
