View Full Version : 1/8 scale Fun! SandLake MI. This Sat.....
Waters 03-12-2009, 08:53 PM This coming Sat. Mar 14th. Plan on starting around 12pm to whenever..
Seeing how the weather will be nice this weekend We would like to extend the invitation to those who would like to come up or down to run some laps on our friends Offroad Track. The address is 16380 Ritchie Sandlake Mi.(just use google maps). Most of us run 1/8 buggy/Truggy but you can bring out what ever you want. The Track is Big 12-14ft wide lanes with piping, and some jumps and a driverstand. If you were to ask me what the track is like I would say it is like a European track, wide open fast with some technical parts. Oh and the dirt is Black and loomy, Step pins, crimefighters, type tires. Feel free to ask Questions. Lets have some Fun and rip it up. Later...

Twitch 03-13-2009, 01:00 PM Wish I could get one more time with the 1/8 scale before Uncle E returns, but I'm heading up north for a beer drinking, skeet shooting weekend

You mean the shovel team :-), last time we did that my hands ached for three plus weeks swing the pick. I didn't think you wanted me on your race team, can't catch some of you, gonna have to let some air out of your tires on your 8ight.

I have an clay pigion thrower if you want to use it.
We can take videos of us and send them to ya. I think we might do a little beer drinking too to keep us from freezing - is that how it works?

I can't hear the engine, just what sounds like a bunch of squirels playing.
Swint, I can't make it out this weekend but looks like I need to go there as well as Scott's track.
HEFFAE 03-15-2009, 12:40 AM Sweet track Roman, can't wait to get back to it.
Best part of the day besides Martys buggy back flip was the foam flipping out of the tire water drain holes. I'm driving down 131 (after a couple beers) and I kept waiting to see this 8ight fly past me, Marty should be on a (test & development team) for RC's.
S.Higbee 03-15-2009, 08:44 AM One broken King Headz Shock tower............$30 (Waters)
Two torn sets of tires...............................$80 (Marty's Electric Buggy)
Rippin' and drinkin' with the boys!................Priceless
Wow was that a blast yesterday. Love the added jumps! Trying to get back this afternoon.....Pending wife and kids plans.
For anyone that has not been to this track it is a blast. Friendly for all scales.
Currently there are three tracks that are within 10 minutes of each other. Might be putting a small "Northern" series together. Still working on the details. Romen we need a name for the track, any ideas? Later Scott

HEFFAE 03-19-2009, 12:23 PM "ROMAN GROUNDS" I like it:thumbsup:
Hey ya'll, after looking at the weather for this Sat. "AM snow showers, high of 44" and Sunday's forecast of "partly cloudy, high of 54" it looks like Sunday will be a much better day for this, I've talked to Andy and asked him to make a few calls, I know a few more 1/8 scalers can make it out Sunday but not Saturday, does this all sound good to you guys:cool:
jasburrito 03-19-2009, 03:30 PM Just checked the wheather! 55 both sat and sunday.sat sunny, sun cloudy. I got my mbx5t E done so I,m prob going to shoot for sat or sooner. Been launching it of a table jump in the yard. If anyone talks to roman, ask him what works
thanks
S.Higbee 03-19-2009, 03:38 PM I'm heading over on Sunday.....I'm on child watch all day Saturday. Looks warmer on Sunday anyway. Maybe we can add a couple more features as well. Like a little lander on the straight. Bring out the 1/8th scalers! and anyone else who wants to rip on a sweeeeeeet track. Need to make a official thread for the Roman grounds, who wants to make it? Later Scott
HEFFAE 03-19-2009, 06:07 PM Ah, it is looking warmer for Sat, the bad part is snow showers in the morning and it will be colder until it reaches a high of 54. Sunday it will be warmer and it won't be as cold for the overnight low - no snow showers Sunday morning either, high of 55 for Sand Lake. Around 5 of us from Hudsonville/Jenison coming up Sunday if that's good Roman.
Waters 03-19-2009, 06:30 PM I talked to Roman and he said its a go for Sunday.:woohoo:
I plain on being there 11ish so I can set up some more scaffolding for a longer driver stand.
S.Higbee 03-19-2009, 06:44 PM No need to mention any names but maybe we can get some of those west siders to make the trip over since we visited them last year a few times. Guys this is just a blast when we get together.....Layed back and none of the "soap opera" stuff! Hope to see some new faces. Let us know if you need directions. I guess I will start a official "Romen Grounds" thread since Romen himself doesn't visit the computer near as much as I do. See ya Sunday,
Scott
