I would use epoxy. That piece takes a lot of pressure to put the stand in. Once the hull halves are bonded together you're screwed if the glue comes lose on that ring.

View Full Version : Glue that bottom hatch ring in good for the Flying Sub Antimatter 03-10-2009, 11:43 PM I would use epoxy. That piece takes a lot of pressure to put the stand in. Once the hull halves are bonded together you're screwed if the glue comes lose on that ring. steve123 03-11-2009, 01:23 AM What I did is: I didn't glue the part # 9 to the stand. It fits tightly enough that it stays in and seems to put less stress on the lower hatch part. Also, that way you can take the Sub off the stand and fly it around the room..Man, you never glue a cool toy to a stand,..how can you play with it that way?...lol Steve falcon49xxxx 03-11-2009, 01:56 AM I think he means the large ring with the fins, not the hatch.I used Testors tube glue. beatlepaul 03-11-2009, 07:03 AM J B WELD......I used it all over the sub ...great stuff:thumbsup: steve123 03-11-2009, 07:16 AM It was late...lol I just used Testors liquid glue, I love the stuff. I did leave the #9 part loose, it fits tight and that way less stress is transmitted to the lower finned ring. And of course the playing thing still applies.... Steve Antimatter 03-11-2009, 11:47 AM I think he means the large ring with the fins, not the hatch.I used Testors tube glue. Correct. steve123 03-11-2009, 12:03 PM Maybe read slower... I glued the finned thingy into the bottom of the sub. I did however, not glue the "D" shaped part that the arm of the stand uses to mate with the sub. It's removable that way. and also put less stress on the finned lower piece...I have to explain again, and I'm driving over to show you..lol Steve Antimatter 03-11-2009, 07:20 PM Maybe read slower... I plan to jam in a bead of epoxy around the part once it's glued in. A good fillet of epoxy ought to keep it secure. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
