Darn now I have to choose 2 out of 3 classes to run if I make it. I'll also need tires for this one as well...........................The last time I ran caps CEB in MArion PA was still running. That and the compounds might be different now.

Will this be a foam tire or cap tire race?

Toby,

You will enjoy the track, we are going to have races there before this event. I played on it the other day. the track has such wide sweeping turns that the front suspension really gets loaded and compressed. I had a new body on it and had the front cut level. the body roll on the set up i was using (not set up correctly for this speed ) it would roll over and ground down "or up" the body so when it was sitting level it was a 1/8 inch higher on the right front of the body.

Also, even though I was by myself, I did flip the car over" it took off in the air like a plane down the back straight (no rear wing) the speeds are so fast.

Will this be a foam tire or cap tire race?

I tried Foams, I went though them in about two 4 minutes runs. this is a cap tire track.

If we have enough people interested I will consider a Foam Tire Class. But has to be more than just a few people.

We are planning on having an event in May not in concrete yet (do not mind the pun) let me know if anyone is interested. We are looking for people that are interested and planning on running at this track. if you can post here your interest, so I can put you in our mailing list to keep you informed. As everyone knows tracks are a huge investment and we need to get a feel for the amount of people interested in racing over the summer months. We are only planning on openning this track for limited amount of races and need to make sure it make some sense on how many weekends we should be open for.

If i am driving it wouldnt matter what compound. I am working on getting some people out and trying some tire combos and will post it on the site.

I could run band aid tires and still suck!

I will prob come down and test some caps once it gets a bit warmer, I am thinking of starting with pinks and going from there. If you want to try a decent starting setup for tires I was going to start with an L Pink Net RF, L Pink LF, L Pink Narrow LR, R Pink Net RR. If there is too much wear on the right sides step them up one compound and try again. I will talk to John about getting some tires together for a track test then everyone can be on the same page. This track is alot closer than Easley for me so I will prob do alot of testing for the big races at this nice facility.

Ok well since i only own cars and claim to know how to drive. I think I will be testing far more then you. HAHA. The track is so wide that I figured I couldnt ever hit a wall. Well that is not true!!!!! I managed to get about 10 ft past the wall.

So everyone should come watch my stunt and stress testing sessions. you all will enjoy.

We tested on it today. Chassis Development. It is extremely fast and wide. I suck so the track seems too fast for me.We are getting a break in the weather now so we can start getting the walls and racing lines painted soon. Looking forward to this summer.

Have you figured out what caps are most likely going to be???

Team T2C

Bud, It all depends how fast you Pro's Want to go. The Track surface and smoothness of it can handle it. Had a racer stop by yesterday and he thinks it is smoother than most carpet tracks he has seen. I know that nowhere on the track does the car even hit a bump.

I posted more pics on the track page

Thank You

We have 8 Power outlets with 40 amps each. We are also expanding those 8 areas to have plenty of power outlets.

Team T2C
04-25-2009, 09:34 AM
We will follow as closely to BRL, Except for Concrete specific areas. I will get you more details in the next few weeks.

We are going to make this as least painful as we can when it comes to classes and rules.

We are going to have the mixture of 1c and 2c racing. to cover everyone

i thought the 17.5 truck class was 4 cell and are we allowed to run any 17.5 set-up

Team T2C
04-25-2009, 04:25 PM
That is going to be allowed at this event. We have alot of 17.5 Spectruck 4 cell in this area. This car will be offered... It would be a great class to run 15 Trucks in the track is biggie then anyone can imagine in width so you could go 5 wide in the corners and not be in the same zip code.

Funny Story: Bob Rhodes stopped by the track for the first time ever. Now please keep in mind that he lived about 1/3 mile aways from it for part of his life. But never did he ever look at it. He said " Stop even posting pictures on the forums they do this place no justice at all." So that is really encouraging.

HA. I have driven by this track for years and had never gotten any closer. I stopped today to supervise a little and all I can say is wow. It far exceeded my expectations. The pictures do not do the track any justice. The track is smooth as glass. I cannot wait to start turning some laps. I have no doubt that this track has the potential to be the premier paved oval in the northeast.
