It is an older car. I would say it is not a big upgrade over your L3. If you are looking to upgrade I would go with...

Pro-3
Gen 2 or Gen 3
McPappy Dart
Silva X-Factor
Leading Edge (Hangman, Future, Convict)
RIP (all of them are pretty good)

What class are you trying to run? What electronics do you already have? Just want to make sure to point you in the right direction.

You could use it as a donar car. The front end, 3 shocks, and rear axle assembly could go on LE graphite or Silva. Would need to purchase rear pod plates only.
Just a thought.

He means a parts car to take parts off of to build one of the ones mentioned. They all use the same parts, and are essentially associated L4 copies. The difference is in the chassis cuts(flex) and quality of parts used(but most all are interchangeable). There is more differences but from your standpont that is essentially what all pan cars are derived from. What do guys at your track run? you would be wise to pick a knowledgable guy and run what he runs. Its going to take time to learn oval racing. Its FAR more complicated than offroad and thats what keeps me in. To tell you the truth if you dont know how to tune a oval car, nothing is going to be any faster then what you have. Offroad I could win with the worst car if my driving skills are there but oval you will get lapped many times if you dont know how to fine tune a car. The learning is the fun part for me, but eventually winning will make it all worth all that time( I can smell it but hasnt happened yet in the fastest classes)

Good information and suggestions.
Honest, informative, and on track.
Glad there are racers out there that realize how important that is.
Especially for the new guy.

The Hyperdrive Pro2 was a pretty good car and if you can get it for the right price it's a upgrade from your L3.

Pro2 gives you:
Adjustable front suspension widths.
Adjustable camber blocks.
Adjustable wheel base both in the front and rear.
Adjustable center shock mount both length and height.
Center rear pod and offset rear pod options.
Adjustable rear steer.
Its also a solid chassis, alot of people prefer solids over sliders.

No its not "State of the Art" buts its a good step up if the price is right.

Thanks, Last year I emailed a picture of a pan car I was going to buy, to a guy I race with to see if it was even the right thing lol. I have been racing outdoors for some time and all of our local guys are good friends, so the transition has been far easier(not easy by any means) for me. But willingness to learn and trial and error are the speed secrets of this sport for a new guy. I showed up to sell off the last of my offroad stuff(xxxt) at the local carpet track. The next week I had foams on it and was running carpet lol caught the bug bad! Thanks Oakhill crew lol

I'm running one in a truck class. Once I remember how to drive, it'll be great.... I'd go for it if the price is right... It's also very durable. Kevin

The pro2 is a very good car and can still hang with any other car out there.
A pro2 dominated the 13.5 1 cell class at turn4's winterblast last week.
