That would look good in my sprint car. Do you have everything to put it together?

Jeff to big for the Sprint Car. My other rears would work better. The rear can use a Raco Ring and Pinion.I have 2 at this time.I think both will be sold.

Ed, curious as to what that unit weighs? And what type of mounts go with it? It's pretty! :)

Thanks,

Robert Here is what you do for gears.Find any ring and pinion.I would start with a cheap right angle grinder.Say from Harbour Freight.Take the gears out. Then do like do.Build the center section around the gears.Once that is done.

Go here .375 bore qc gear 11 to 15 tooth page 1 http://www.rushgears.com/Tech_Tools/PartSearch2/partSearch.php?gearType=SPUR
.375 bore qc gear 16 to 19 tooth page 2
.375 bore qc gear 19 to 23 tooth page 3
.375 bore qc gear 24 to 27 tooth page 4
.375 bore qc gear 28 to 32 tooth page 5
.375 bore qc gear 32 to 36 tooth page 6
.375 bore qc gear 36 to 40 tooth page 7
To get the quick chang gears.
This site has cad drawings for every.Quick (Change Gear or Spur gear as they are called).
The gears here are only a few thousants. From a Skellenger QC gear.
When i built my first QC. I guessed at the center distance of the QC gears.I came uo with 1 inch.Years later i talked to Skellenger.I asked what the center distance was.I was told 1.002 not bad for guessing.

You asked about the sprint car rear.If you look at the last pic the one with the 2 rears together. The smaller one is for a Sprint.
The pics have a couple of rears with tubes if one wants that.

Tim i will weight the rear tomorrow.I had to be in Boston today to see my Doctor. You asked asked how to mount it.Since most Sprint cars i think use a trailing arm.Get rid of the bearing block. Then mount it with axle tubes to the arm.

I am not sure how it will change. The setup.I know the car will weight 2 or 3 pounds more. One has to remember. When the QC was in its heyday. The engine only had 1.25 HP.How much HP does it have now. That should make for the weight.A wise and smart 1/4 scaler told me.I could beat the belt with a QC.
I am not saying i am right.Just my ideas.

Thanks,

Tim i did weigh the Skellenger and mine The one shown on the left in the pic.

Skellenger .83 lbs This one has one bearing in it. This has a longer side cover and a rear cover.
Mine : .76 lbs.None in mine.So there is the weight difference.

One Question to all. What would be a fair selling price on my rear? Not an e-bay price.

Thanks Ed
