gixxerman 03-08-2009, 09:42 PM He has been diagnosed with VIRAL Meningitas! Which by term is the "less serious treatable" form of the three types! Not taking anything away still very serious!
Let's all try and keep this thread bumped for Bob, he is a great friend and a inspiration that I think VERY highly of! Everyone who reads these posts: please remember to keep the Rhodes family in your prayers!

lindakay1947 03-10-2009, 08:03 AM This Is Bob's Mother. Bob Is Not Out Of Icu. He Was Intubated Upon Entering The Hospital And Will Stay In Icu Until They Take The Tubes Out. He Needs The Tubes For The Procedure He Is Having This Afternoon And They Wanted Him On Medicationn For 48 Hours B-4 The Operation. Hopefully They Will Take The Tube Out Of His Throat Later Tonight Or Tomorrow. He Is Having The Left Side Of His Head (re: Sinus' And Pockets Of Infection) Scraped. The Dr. Said If This Would Not Be Done He Would Be Deaf In His Left Ear. Missy, His Dad And I Want To Thank Everyone For Their Thoughts And Prayers. They Are Much Needed And Much Appreciated. Hopefully Within The Next 24 To 48 Hours We Will Have Some News To Keep Us All Breathing Easier. Jw...thank You For Starting This Thread...it Is Very Good To Know That Bob Has Such A Great Support System. He Has Always Been My Hero......
Thoughts and Prayers with you.

BRhodes 03-13-2009, 12:00 AM Well I hope you all are getting ready to talk to him yourself.....yes i said it! One of his first questions after the respirator was out of his mouth was did I have his cell phone....I told him the blood had to find his fingers again before he could text! We are not sure when he might get out of ICU but please know that we, the entire Rhodes' family, thanks you for you prayers, concerns, and thoughts in our tough situation. We are truely blessed to have you and I know Bob is looking forward to reading what he's missed in the last 5 days....
Thanks again, Missy Rhodes

yes i beleive he did.
gindlmi 03-14-2009, 08:31 AM Bob did have a spinal tap. That is the only way to detect meningitis. An MRI will not pic up the fact that meningitis is present in the body.
iroczcec 03-14-2009, 10:08 AM bob wish you a speedy recovery and are prayer are still with you!!!!!!!!!
