What are you doing for 1600 spec batteries? we have had a large influx of legends and several racers that have s/ks and can't seem to buy 1600 spec batts. It's getting impossible to tech cause you want them to be able to race but its not fair to the racers running true spec. :dude:

And the performance of Murdocks 3000 mah are very good also.I like the run time aspect the most!!!!!!The next thing is how is the availability gonna be with these packs.

I threw a 21.5 novak in my spec s/k for next week, I also have a 1c lipo coming, I just don't think thats going to be equal in speed and several of the racers have had a taste of speed and don't want to go backwards. So I guess the answer is no one has or are getting 1600s in the near future? :dude:

I still think your going to be better off with 1c 17.5.
21.5 will be alot slower than what your currently running

21.5 will be alot slower than what your currently running Thats my thoughts also Big D, but we also have to think about the spec s/ks that don't have extra $ for new batts/speedo/motor, I don't want to get too far ahead of them and chase them away. My 21.5 runs within 1tenth of my closed endbell mtr and that ain't bad but slide in a 17.5 and I might as well run a cobalt against them. For the go fast guys 2 weeks and I'll have a pro s/k with 17.5/1cell lipo to create another class. (told u not to sell that car) :dude:

we are going to try both motors (17.5 & 21.5) to see which is closer in speed. you might be right that the 17.5 will be closer in speed. we ran a 21.5 on a track that is 1/3 bigger than are usual and the rollout for the 21.5 ended up close to 6.00. we are also worried about cost and that is why you don't want them to be faster so as to run the guys out who run the stock motor and battery. we also don't want to start a new class as we already are running over 20 heats per round.

Go the Spec motor and single cell route for this year. Most of the racers should have a receiver pack, so the only thing they'll need to buy is the battery. We also had that problem here, so we decided to try the single cell, and we couldn't be happier! It works great, and has made for some real close racing!! If you use the NiMH receiver packs, you will have to charge it every round. Some of our guys have gone with the lipo/regulator setup, and only charge every other round.
Like Casper said, 21.5 single cell will be extremely slow. We tried the 17.5 single cell and it was a touch slower than the Trinity Spec motors and single cell. This is the way we are going next year. Danny has said multiple times he can keep the current single cell (25C/4000mAH) just as it is for several years, so we adopted that pack as our track pack. Everyone runs the same battery just as we did with the Trinity Spec packs.
If ya'll want to stay with the Trinity packs, let me know if you're interested in some new ones. The hobbyshop has a box full, and would like to get rid of them.
Hope this helps!
