Just picked up this little jewel, the last Audi R-8s to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This is a 1:64 die-cast released by NewRay (don't know a lot about the company)
I do know the car however! Entered by ADT Champion Racing, this Audi Sport UK prototype had a 3.6 liter turbo V8 and was driven to a first place overall by Tom Christensen (His 6th straight Le Mans victory), JJ Lento and Marco Werner in the 2005 running of the endurance classic.
This was the last R-8s to win, as the equally dominating R10-TDI made it’s debut the next year phasing these cars out of LMP1 competition.
