View Full Version : Star Trek XI trailer III Seashark 03-05-2009, 09:20 PM Scroll to the bottom of the page. http://jonn.co.uk/movies/modules/news/article.php?storyid=472 jheilman 03-05-2009, 09:41 PM I'm looking forward to it and a little hopeful that the hints about an altered timeline pan out. Eric K 03-05-2009, 10:48 PM Looking good to me ;) wow...really bad splelling error hehehehe Carson Dyle 03-06-2009, 01:30 AM Here's the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pqc878-jRQ Apple Quicktime version should be up on Monday. klgonsneedbotox 03-06-2009, 02:57 AM I'm even more optimistic than before... Of course, I'm mush less concerned about the "look" of the film than a lot of others are... As far as trailers go...JJ has hit a home run with these three...IMHO...of course... Hoping the film does them justice. Mitchellmania 03-06-2009, 10:00 AM This film will bring life back into the Star Trek movie franchise ! Maybe they will have sequels with this crew. fernieo 03-06-2009, 10:31 AM Quicktime versions: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/startrek/ PhilipMarlowe 03-06-2009, 01:54 PM Looks good! I still think Bruce Greenwood's gonna be a great Pike! Carson Dyle 03-06-2009, 02:40 PM I still think Bruce Greenwood's gonna be a great Pike! He's fantastic. It's an important role in the film, and Greenwood hits it out of the park. Jodet 03-06-2009, 03:21 PM This just left me speechless. I never imagined Paramount would pony up the money to make Trek a major summer movie, nor that we'd ever see the franchise turned over to someone with the vision and courage to create something new. CANNOT WAIT TILL MAY. Seashark 03-06-2009, 07:28 PM I don't think we need two threads for this thing. The mods can close this thing up if they see fit. El Gato 03-07-2009, 12:13 AM Looks good! I still think Bruce Greenwood's gonna be a great Pike! This just left me speechless. I never imagined Paramount would pony up the money to make Trek a major summer movie, nor that we'd ever see the franchise turned over to someone with the vision and courage to create something new. CANNOT WAIT TILL MAY. Couldn't say it better myself, so I'll quote you guys. :D :woohoo::roll::woohoo::roll: ClubTepes 03-08-2009, 09:34 AM Watched it about 20 times so far. Probably the best movie trailer I've ever seen. The music is great. Is this original music? A lot of times music isn't done for a trailer, and they use music from another film by the same composer. I'm wondering what the case is here. Carson Dyle 03-09-2009, 12:32 AM The music is great. Is this original music? In this case the music was created specifically for the trailer. Lou Dalmaso 03-09-2009, 07:33 AM Carson, perhaps you can answer this.. Why so many upside down shots of the Enterprise and Kelvin? Is this indicative of the style of the film or something done for artistic reasons in the trailer alone Dave Hussey 03-09-2009, 02:22 PM Because there's no "up" in space perhaps? (I'm not trying to make a wisecrack by the way!) Huzz Carson Dyle 03-09-2009, 02:28 PM Carson, perhaps you can answer this.. Why so many upside down shots of the Enterprise and Kelvin? It may simply have been the luck of the draw in terms of which FX shots were finished and available for use prior to our deadline. Certainly the action scenes in the film are fairly dynamic in terms of the camera angles used, but the action is nowhere near as whacky as, say, Ron Moore's BS:G. Lou Dalmaso 03-09-2009, 02:50 PM Great! So I won't have to load up on motion sickness medication before the film  I hate shakey cam! It has it's place in say, a room full of people where you might not know who iis going to talk next.. but if you're in space, aim the camera at the ship and keep it steady jheilman 03-09-2009, 09:56 PM Well, I for one happen to love the Galactica documentary-style FX. It can be over-used, but I think it adds a sense of immediacy to it. Trailer looks awesome. I keep rewatching it myself. PhilipMarlowe 03-09-2009, 11:43 PM Well, I for one happen to love the Galactica documentary-style FX. It can be over-used, but I think it adds a sense of immediacy to it. I agree. I think Firefly started the trend, or at least the first time I remember seeing it used in space SFX shots. Galactica took it up a few notches. aurora fan 03-10-2009, 07:15 PM Wow. Whats not to like. I haven't gone to or bought Star Trek movies in a long time. The political correctness of TNG and Picard and Worf and Data (BLEH) It was insulting for me the way Kirk got killed off. I gave up after that one. This looks like a fresh take and return to the original. I wish there would of been a way to incorporate Shatner. As if he was telling the story of his adventures to his grandchildren or something. That would of tied it together and made it special for me. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
