Of course, I'm mush less concerned about the "look" of the film than a lot of others are...

As far as trailers go...JJ has hit a home run with these three...IMHO...of course...

Hoping the film does them justice.

This film will bring life back into the Star Trek movie franchise !
Maybe they will have sequels with this crew.

He's fantastic. It's an important role in the film, and Greenwood hits it out of the park.

This just left me speechless. I never imagined Paramount would pony up the money to make Trek a major summer movie, nor that we'd ever see the franchise turned over to someone with the vision and courage to create something new.

perhaps you can answer this.. Why so many upside down shots of the Enterprise and Kelvin? Is this indicative of the style of the film or something done for artistic reasons in the trailer alone

Because there's no "up" in space perhaps? (I'm not trying to make a wisecrack by the way!)

It may simply have been the luck of the draw in terms of which FX shots were finished and available for use prior to our deadline. Certainly the action scenes in the film are fairly dynamic in terms of the camera angles used, but the action is nowhere near as whacky as, say, Ron Moore's BS:G.

Great! So I won't have to load up on motion sickness medication before the film :thumbsup:
I hate shakey cam! It has it's place in say, a room full of people where you might not know who iis going to talk next.. but if you're in space, aim the camera at the ship and keep it steady

Well, I for one happen to love the Galactica documentary-style FX. It can be over-used, but I think it adds a sense of immediacy to it.

I agree. I think Firefly started the trend, or at least the first time I remember seeing it used in space SFX shots. Galactica took it up a few notches.

Wow. Whats not to like. I haven't gone to or bought Star Trek movies in a long time. The political correctness of TNG and Picard and Worf and Data (BLEH) It was insulting for me the way Kirk got killed off. I gave up after that one. This looks like a fresh take and return to the original. I wish there would of been a way to incorporate Shatner. As if he was telling the story of his adventures to his grandchildren or something. That would of tied it together and made it special for me.
