View Full Version : Clamp on steering servo plate box or bar
KnoxMotorsports 03-03-2009, 11:22 PM Well I am done with this project , This for those that want to use either setup ,The slider box or the slide bar ,The slide bar design is using the stock WCM slider bar ,It is a good design just had one problem ,That is now fixed , The steering links from servo saver to bar were angled down causing it to bind when the servos would go left to right and causing some nasty thread marks in the slide bar ,All I did was to raise the slide bar up closer to the servos now instead of lifting up or puishing down it just slides left or right .
The slider box kit is a pro1 design and it is a good design ,The only problem with this is the servo's can turn to the up position when radio power is off ,There is a fix to this attach a rod from servo saver to servo saver [ A rod similar to a steering link ] it stops the servo saver from going up all the way , This is a fix from some of the other racers , Thank you Robert  knoxmotorsports@gmail.com

KnoxMotorsports 03-04-2009, 12:42 AM Glad to hear good reports , Thank you Robert
jeffdavis38 03-04-2009, 12:45 AM If anyone would like to see this stuff up close I will have it in the trailer so you can see it and see how good the quality is. Bob does great work and I think everyone that tries it will like it.
jbrooks39 03-04-2009, 01:15 AM Is the WCM-based version a bolt-thru the axle design? Or does it clamp-on as well?
Are there kits available to upgrade (meaning, if I wanted a WCM clamp-on design, could I just get the pieces I need since I already have the WCM stock parts?)?
Thanks,
Joe
KnoxMotorsports 03-04-2009, 01:54 AM YES the servo plate clamps on , Yes the stock WCM steering nylon slider and steering slider bar will it on this servo plate ,The one that is pictured here is going straight to WCM , Thank you for asking Robert
Randy Baker 03-04-2009, 05:56 AM I have this system installed in my car now ( servo mount ) . Works real smooth and I have to echo Jeff's comments about Roberts quality work . Some of the advantages of having this system are being able to keep the mount between the frame rails evenly if you like to offset your car or being able to adjust the position of your servos to keep the steering linkages in line to your spindles . Also if you have to change an axle , you won't have to diassemble the whole servo and rack system for the change out . Nice work Robert, what's you next project or are you going fishing now ?
Randy
Bob: I am looking forward to get your stuff after looking over your pics. Now design something that will help me not hit the wall LOL:wave:

okracer 03-11-2009, 05:56 PM you could always cut a slot in the track and put a guide flag on the front of the race car lol
