Just about every set of silicone tires I have purchased for original Aurora AFX cars are about 1/32 or so wider than the width of the wheel.

1) Does anybody have a source for silicone tires which match the exact profile of the original AFX tires?

2) Also, can you still purchase spounge tires for Aurora AFX cars?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, almost all tire makers don't take account of the Afx's inner flange on the rear tires. Jel Claws does but they've gotten spotty reviews. You can try Weird Jack's tires. Or go with the AW/JL tires......They're a silicone/rubber hybrid which works pretty well on routed track (especially after a vaseline rubdown).

For spongies, try Jag Hobbies, Slotcar Central, or Slotcar Johnnies.

Buds tires work REAL well on AFX, M/T, and X/T. Wierd Jacks butt uglies are awesome too, theyre nice and low, have a nice mix of grip and slide and you can true them real easy.

Hi:

We race AFX/M-T in our club, FRHO. Try this:

You should end up with the rear tire and rim about .446 - .448 just the right size!!!!

Tires - http://www.xp77.com/hiester/ - get the S401 - S410

Rims - JW's Double Flange .275 dia. Rear Wheels

MW03
MW03-D- JW's .275 (.310 wide) Double Flange Black Wheels - $2.75 pair.
MW03-N- JW's .275 (.310 wide) Double Flange White Wheels - $2.75

The tires are little short for the rim, but place a really small O-ring on the inside of the rim to take up the space.

Works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
