I've had this sitting around for awhile now. As I'm closing in on the last of the Galileo and Rifleman, I'm bringing this bird up to speed witht he aim of finishing it off pronto.

Since recording this overview vid a few hours ago, I've severely magnetized the body and the few leds I'll need will go in fast.

For a rigging mount, I will bulk up the dorsal spine with popsicle sticks and drill a 1/4" hole for the brass tube stand I built. That will be attacheable on the bottom or top. The plastic covering is all set for a magnetic grip.

The Force (magnetic) binds 90% of this kit together; and this will be one of the more advanced builds I do as far as coalescing various techniques into a single build.

I am now sure that the kit is missing up to four parts. The back horizontal panel has four holes in it. Inside there are registration mark/stops that look like they should be containing something. I have no idea what these parts might look like. Can anyone offer any clues?

Here are the results of my all-nighter. About 6 hours of work, or one hour per led :freak:

Had to switch up to a bigger wall wart due to mA restrictions. Thought I blew all my leds out a few times, damaged the fiber optics a few times, did some trim painting, laid out all the magnets and lots and lots of test fitting and lighting checks.

Next installment will cover the simplification process. After that, it's on to standard building techniques to finish this bird off.

Man I've been doing studio scale for too long, all I see is parts for an Excelsior and a Warp Sled.

It looks like you have all the parts that came with the kit....at least yours match the 3 I have.

W/o directions, I was concerned the 4 open slots on the back plane should have some kind of inserts. I got the directions from a youtuber and put all the last pieces together.

Turns out, I am missing part #16 at the base of the upper back pod.

Wish I could afford to get some SS right now. I'm starving!
........

Well, here's the last of the lighting installments for this build. I'm on to regular build stuff like putty and paint. I guess I'm moving this thread over to the sci-fi section. I'll post a link when I got it in there.
