As the title says. I am looking for a site or some kind of list for 1/64th Ertl American Muscle cars. I have seen some on ebay, but was curious how many are out there. If anyone has pictures that would be great! Most important:

Impalas
Camaros
GTO's
Corvette's
Mustangs

Thanks!

Hmmmm....

That list looks pretty familiar, I wonder why?

When I sent my list to **** two years ago, I didn't realize it would later be publicly disseminated.

Hugger -

I believe you shared your list with me as well for our original project. I have not sent it to anyone - hope you don't think I am ****.

Our new project will hopefully launch this Spring........ We appreciated your contribution and think you will be excited to see how it will be used.

No Mark,

It's not you, **** lives in Wisconsin.

Granted the speadsheet has been modified slightly since I shared it with him, but 90% is still original to me.

PS. I was happy to help you out, even if only in some small way.

I do not remember who or when I got it, but it is hardly sensitive intellectual property nor does it contain sensitive government military secrets... anyone getting offended about such a gloriously frivolous list has a seriously artificial sense of self agrandizement.... in any case, what is the problem with such a simple list of toy cars being posted for all to view?

In any event, Mark or "dipstick", can you share what project you make reference here? Anything to do with Ertl AM 1/64 should be interesting.

Sheldon,

You just don't get it, do you?

Let me type this slowly so you can understand what you are reading.

This list, although not rocket science, was something I created.

If I had wanted it plastered anonymously all over the Internet, I would have done it myself years ago.

Ask Wyatt how he feels about his pictures being "borrowed" and used on Ebay. Photographs are not rocket science either, but the same principle applies to both of us.

Maybe someday you will understand. If not, how sad for everyone.....

a list like this? tisk tisk tisk.

I figured it was posted precisely to update. I guess your words posted on this forum may also be considered "your creation"!

Did not realize how sensitive you are... perhaps you should join the oprah winfrey forum and and vociferate your grievances there... surely you will have a sympathetic audience.

Next time, we shall ask for "permission" to post a tiny little list of publicly offered products.

You have no one to blame but yourself.
You shouldn't have risked the chance if you felt that strongly about it.

But really, it is just a list. Your list and Wyatt's photographs are the not same. There is no artistic expression in a list like there is with a photograph. If you feel there is you should have tried to get a copyright on it. Of course RC2 would probably get rights over you on that.

I feel that if I came upon your list I would not hesitate to share it with fellow collectors unless you told me in no uncertain words to not share the information. I would give you credit though if I did share it.

Guys - "can't we all just get along" j/k.

I think everything was done for the good of the hobby, the original list and passing it on. Let's roll with that. Understood there was a lot that went into it originally with the effort to compile it.

Having been working on a number of these lists over the last year it does become a "body of work" and blood, sweat and tears.......

It is more about citing credit I think than the actual posting. Having a number of intellectual pieces out there, I too get a bit crooked when folks post my efforts as their own or post without credit.

Let's also not create more strife with additional comments and call this a lesson learned perhaps?

Thanks, I agree!

I understand some lists may be timely... but this one? Come on! I have all of these cars, and it only would have taken a few minutes. This line is relatively small.

I can appreciate the time it would have taken to implement a list of all HW or JL cars from the 60s!! But this one? naaah... to small and too recent.

By the way, can you share with us this project you are working on? Does it deal with bringing new diecasts to the market? Or is it nothing more than this list?

It is more than this list, however Hugger contributed to a portion of the project with this list and I believe one or two others.....

Hey Sheldon,

Your comment "I can appreciate the time it would have taken to implement a list of all HW or JL cars from the 60s!! But this one? naaah... to small and too recent" had me rolling on the floor laughing. Thanks
Since my list is in your words, a "tiny little list of publicly offered products" and "it only would have taken a few minutes. This line is relatively small."

I have a little challenge for you: Why don't you whip us up a complete list of the 1/24 Route 66 cars from a few years back? There weren't near as many variations in that series as Ertl had with their 1/64 Ertl American Muscle.

Just type in a few particulars like the SKU #, release date, year/make/color of vehicle, and what city or state the postcard was inside the box

With your propensity for using big words and obvious superior intellect, it shouldn't take you long at all....

Here is your chance to really impress everybody.

PEOPLE!!!! I know I am new to this forum, but all I asked, was there a list of erlt cars. Hugger78 was nice enough to supply me with the information I needed. I also do not consider it a waste of time or effort to help a fellow collector no matter how small the list may be. My hats off to Hugger for giving me exactly what I was looking for. I'm only sorry that by helping me it has stirred up a hornet's nest. I also hope we can get along and get past this problem. This is a hobby to be enjoyed and shared and helping each other if possible is part of the picture. I hope I do not cause such a stir with any future questions I may have.

I would only list items that interest me.. besides, the Ertl list was recent (2001) and in my collection, so I would have been happy to create the list. On the other hand, if the subject or scale does not interest me, why would I create a list?.

Sorry that you only like monosyllabic words......

Anyway, this is my last post on this topic.

Who cares who created it? You all sound like a bunch of old farts pissing and moaning. It's not like it was published in a book and sold for profit. It's just an simple spreadsheet with the names and colors of ERTL diecast. Hardly anyone's 'intellectual property'.

Anyway, it's nice to have it. Does anyone have a list of the old ERTL 1:64th diecast, from the '70s-80s?

I am done sharing...

Make your own, that's what I did.

Could you imagine if Wyatt or Doug Breithaupt had the same notion on sharing?
I disagree with your views Hugger78 but appreciate your effort in deciding to help out a few collectors including Dipstick.

Seems a lot of emotions in this thread. Before it gets out of hand I'm locking it down.
