We had a club meeting Sunday and we have decided that no one, absolutely NO ONE, will be allowed to bring their stuff into the building, No Table or anything, until the carpet is in and the carpet and tables in the back in set up. Once this is done then people can bring their race equipment and tables in and claim a pit spot.

If we don't do this it gets too confusing and hard to get the wiring spread out and the carpets into the building and set the tables up where they need to be.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

just curious are the racers responsible for their own tables or are they supplied at the track. Ajs last post raised the question Thanks Jason

Hey Jason,

You will be good to go for tables. There is plenty to go around. I'd bring an extension cord & power strip though.

Mr.Wolfman

with the many different tracks, what traction compounds are allowed.
thanks

Wolfman

AJS
03-02-2009, 11:54 PM
We have allowed all traction compounds, most use paragon. The only reason I brought that up is that some racers bring their own tables, sorry for the confusion. We usually rent about 40 tables and there are already some at the building.

Sonny, I'll give the local grocery stores a holler tomorrow when i get to town and make sure they setup an endcap with Kool-Aid on it right inside the door. Might even see if the local girl scouts want to setup a stand outside if the weather is nice, but i'll have them clear the flavor with you beforehand, sound good?:)

As always had a good time at a BRL race. Vinton has to be one of the best tracks that we go to. The whole IROAR Club does a great job. The pork chop dinner was a great idea and the Parks Dept has excellent food and service.

It was fun seeing all the Western racers again. It was our first time pitting in the back with the Northen folks, Steiners, Kleiners, Hack and Hays.

Hard luck award would have to go to my buddy Shane. Track broke down on the way up, had to stay with Phil and Chris all ,weekend, and then gets out qualified by me!!!!! Maybe Sonny can get AAA to put up a membership for a door prize. Oh wait, that would mean you would have to win it.

Bob finally told me what his Wife really put in those brownies. Thanks Deb.

Does anybody have pics of the winners?

Hey Sonny, stay in shape, might be more events coming up.:)

For those wondering, after a couple new battieries Shane got about an hour from his place last night before ditching the truck on an off-ramp, he hitched a ride with Aundrea and I the rest of the way. He said he was going to head up today after work to figure out what's up.

Other than that drama, we had a great weekend. Big thanks to the IROAR crew for all their hard work putting the show on, the sponsors for the raffle and making all this possible, and of course Sonny for all the heavy lifting he does keeping the BRL rolling.

See ya in Cincy!

Nice to see the friendly faces this past weekend. Wish things would have worked out better for me, but still glad to see everyone. Hope everyone made it home safely. Thought i would pass along the info below in case someone came upon this and was wondering:

I had an old friend from high school, shouldn't say old i guess, he was 26 years old, who was rearended on his motorcycle north of town on sunday afternoon and killed instantly. I'm sure that some of you may have come up on the scene if you headed out that way. He was waiting to turn left into his parents drive and was run over. Tragic loss as his mother was a school teacher and father was an attorney in town so everyone knew him and his family.

Also thanks to all the racers that made the trip. Thanks to all the loyal club members that helped not only this weekend but throughout the year.

My biggest thanks have to go to the racers though. You guys were on the ball this weekend. When I was running the races we were averaging about 1m15sec between races. Thank you guys, it makes it so much easier when the Race Director doesn't have to wait for racers or call for turn marshalls all day.

all the rest has been said!

See some of you in Cincy or elsewhere.

Yes Kevin won, and Dan was 2nd not Brian. Kevin missed the loop when Koko tapped him coming off of 4. Chuck needs to be aware of it.

The 17.5 4 cell "A" main I watched Kevin Klyber WON!!!!!!!

Kevin did win 17.5. As Danny said he was forced below the lap counter. We both saw it and modified the results on the print out.

Also the other results are going to look a little strange because of the way we had to manipulate the computer program for bump-ups and the lucky dog. I will try to post a version that is easier to read soon.

I guess this is also a good time to thank AJ, Dave, Danny, Ken De Good’s son (sorry can’t remember his name) and all the IROAR club members for their help this weekend. You guys are the reason that Vinton is such a fun place to race at every year.

Also a big thanks to all the racers for keeping things running so smooth. I think the BRL could run on auto pilot at this point. (Must be the Kool-aid):D

52 racers in the SMC 21.5 Super Stock class was awesome to see. Good close racing as well.

Thanks to Hays from Lefthander R/C for sponsoring the event and to all of our other sponsors for their support and product donations. We had a good weekend on the raffle nd it pushed the total to $2065.00 that we will be sending to the Victory Junction Gang as seasons end.

One more to go. See everyone in Cincinnati for the Novak National Finals in three weeks. (full race info coming soon)
