ARE ANY OF THESE MODELS LISTED BELOW "out of the ordinary" OR "special" IN ANY WAY?

Before I started "officially collecting" in 1999, that is, buying models at various retail outlet stores and on-line, I would invaribly and compulsively pick up any little diecast vehicles that were obviously discarded, abandoned or trashed. These tiny models were found in a creek bed, on top of a fence post, alongside a roadway, beside a lake shore, and while digging a hole in the ground.

The minute white '54 Corvette and the red '59 Cadillac are only one and a quarter inch long. They both have a round metal piece on the bottom of their chassis. The Corvette reads: 1987 Galoop. The Cadillac reads: 1987 Made in China.

your 1967 VW is what's called a HWs Redline from the 1967-1972 era, and in good shape, that is very collectable. The Goodee is also a good find, not a lot of them made, but very nice, I have a few of these in my collection. The rest I can't really speak for.

The three Matchbox models are very common, and in the current condition practically worthless if you tried to sell them.
Sorry - I know that was not the answer you were hoping for :o
The other models....I don't have a clue, as they are far from what I collect.

The first ones should be Galoob - called Micro Machines - sold all over the toy stores in the US. Check http://www.puremicros.com/gautos.html . The 2nd one may? be a knock-off. So common as they probably are not worth much. Topper is maker of the first Johnny Lightnings - competitor with Hot Wheels - would be worth something if in good shape.

i want to know where this creekbed and hole in the ground is, i think the lesney berlinetta is a VERY interesting car, i have personally never seen that one. I own that bus myself. I am jealous of your redline VW it appears to be in really good shape mine has a lot of toning. the ford thunderbolt is actually fairly new and your car i believe is the first edition of that particular hotwheel. and your mako topper i have no clue, sure it doesnt have much paint left but dang imagine what it looked like with it!!! cool cars. and i agree with Karl S on the mini cars, Micro machines were extremely popular in the early nineties and soon after many people were trying to make them so finding a "knock off" isnt that uncommon. still cool cars. wish i still had all of mine!

I've got a spare Berlinetta (slightly better condition but missing towhook)
If interested, you can have it for free. Sorry no Gryhound in my "spares-box" at the moment.
PM or email adress me your adress.

Thanks for all your replies, gentlemen! Like I mentioned, all of these were found in different places at different times except for the VW which I bought way back in time, probably in the late 60s. I am not particularly concerned with the values, although it is cool to know that the Bug is a $ collectible. Since I built plastic models in the late fifties and early sixties, I missed out on the 1/64 diecasts and Hot Wheels per se, so these older ones are quite unfamiliar to me. Thanks for your insights and updates on them!

Karl, your answer is perfectly fine. Since these were "gifts" anyway, I wasn't expecting anything other than how they figured into diecast history.

BTW, where in Denmark? I stayed for a number of months near Aarhus and loved it!

Most redline VW Bugs had sun roofs -if this is an early issue without sun roof then its worth much more than the usual $100 for a good one like yours:thumbsup:
