I'm one of the people who is quite excited about this car. The Marauder doesn't look terribly special on the outside, however under the skin it is quite a suprise for people who don't know what it is. The main thing is the marauder has essentially the 96-98 Mustang Cobra engine, the 305 hp 4.6 DOHC 32 valve. Along with this engine it had various suspension modifacations, dual exhaust, and a beefier tranny. This car has a fairly loyal following, but not many people know about it.

I am extremely excited about this diecast! Hopefully that was what you were looking for.

Thanks for the info. Must have been a real sleeper. It sure doesn't stand out in the crowd.

I've always liked that car..wouldn't mind having one in 1:1. Full-size RWD V8 sedans are a dying breed in a world of dull, vanilla FWD V6 generics.

Definitely a "sleeper" unless you were in the know.
A very beautiful car that could really move.
And there weren't many of them around.
Mercury Division of FoMoCo did this one right.

Cheers. Cobra

It seems alright but I would rather see a 1969 Mercury Maruader. My first car was a used one dad got a hold of. it was light green with a whie vinal hard top. It was a 2 door with plenty of muscle. It had a 390 in it and we put dual exhaust on it for a little noise. Fun to drive and put your foot into on the open road.

A '69-70 would be great to see in 1:64th. I have the Minichamps 1:43rd one, which is very nice.

GREAT car- the real on and the toy! More items like this NEED to be made! LEt's get away from the 60's Camaro's and even some of the overly used Mustangs and start making some more cars that you don't see often!!! Kudo's GL!

Me too. I hope all you who are of the same opinion are out buying the 65 and 66 Galaxies they have introduced. That's the only way to get other rarely produced cars.

Me too! And yep, I've got both Galaxie vert's, I won't be buying the hard top simply because if a strip version of a car is going to release it should have more than just a wierd paint job and big tires. Give me a blown engine and a roll cage and I wouldn't think twice about picking one up.

This release is hitting TRU. Picked up a Marauder yesterday. Looks spot-on and bad as bad can be in black.

I really look forward to a Black Bandit version! Or how about a BB Crown Vic - all-black with dark light bar?

It's pretty sweet... I hope they do an unmarked Crown Vic PI in black w/ black wheels, like this one (but in black or other dark color):

My "personal shopper" (if he reads this I am dead meat) :ppicked up the 66 Galaxie drag car this week and I have the 65 black County Roads Galaxie convert. I need the blue 65 and the GM 66 and whatever else they intro.

I'm very excited about this casting! I cannot wait until I find it. I most likely will not, so buying it online will probably be my only way hah
