Hello everyone! Joe's Hobby Barn in Terre Haute, IN will be hosting races on the outdoor OVAL and Offroad tracks on Sundays from May untill July this year. Traditionally we have good turnouts for racing in the early season and then it tapers off as the summer goes on. So we are taking that into consideration in planning our season this year. We will begin racing on both tracks on May 3rd. We will race the month of May for 4 Sundays, ( not Memorial Day Weekend, the 24th), June for 4 Sundays, and July for 4 Sundays. That will give us 12 weeks of racing this Summer at the Barn. We will be running the same track as last year, with a few improvements. They are very good tracks!

If anyone has some input about schedule, rules, classes, etc, we will look at them and see if we can/ should make changes.

The most popular classes ( not in any particular order ) at Joe's have been:
1/8 scale 4x4 Nitro buggy
1/8 scale 4x4 Nitro Truggy
1/10 scale gas (nitro) trucks
1/10 scale Truck ( stock and mod )
Monster Trucks ( electric will run w/ nitros)
1/10 4x4 electric buggy
Novice ( run what U brung)
1/8 scale Latemodel OVAL (new class!)
1/10 sliders (new class!)
1/10 truck OVAL
Joe's will run ANY class w/ 3 entries
You can run either OVAL or offroad or BOTH on the same day!

Joe's is a family friendly track and we welcome newby's!

Joe's is on Springhill about a mile east of SR41. From I-70 go south on SR41 four stoplights to Springhill, turn left (east) go about a mile, Joe's is on the left, right before the RR tracks. We race on Sundays, the track opens at 10am and racing begins at 1:00pm. we run 2 heats and a main event. $15 for the first entry and $10 for each additional. The hobbyshop is open 10 am to 6pm., the # is 812 299 5773. We have added several more electic outlets around the Barn, and power to the drivers stand. There are many good pit areas that have shade most of the day, bring your own table and chair, and extension chord and you will be SET! Easy ups are welcome as well.Come out to Joe's this summer for some good times racing, and some good competition

This is to everyone that saw the one and only posting that I've ever had on here. Joe's Hobby Barn is really a great place to start your R/C racing hobby,
the staff there are informative and friendly..if U wait long enough for John to get off the phone...lol and all the racers that do show up are your friends
from the words hi! I'm one of those guys but I kinda got caught up in trying to satisfy myself and then letting trivial racing/track issues become something that it should'nt have and I took it out on friends of mine @ Joe's.
There are some things that could be better, no, it's not big city racing(banked clay oval, double tabletop, with a switchback) but it's better than ZIP! and until something else opens up better, it is what it is! So! I apologize
to Joe and everyone down at Joe's raceway and good luck with 09!
Big G...

DITTO!!

Electric Trucks have been a good class at Joe's; typically the stock (13.5, lipo) has PLENTY of power for our track. In fact, the sandy surface at Joe's will teach you throttle control! Don't be scared- It will make you a better driver on other tracks as well. Tires that work for stock truck- m3 edges on front, and m3 holeshots on rear.
