This was a 1/72 Matchbox toy from the 1980's/90's that I am modelizing.

The model itself now houses a motor for the head radar bar and 2 white leds in the torso, all running off a 2.9v/ 240mA wall transformer. Power distributes through the bottom of the feet and it will only power up on a particular stand (to be created) where a contact switch will be utilized; move the mech off center and it will power down.

I will likely stick a couple magnets in the feet to help him stay in place.
Major wiring layout is complete.
I am nearly ready to seal the body up.
I try to keep the vids short, but sometimes there is a lot to cover. My apologies.

In today's entry, I wired the legs and sealed them in the hip. The torso is ready for the led/headlights, but I have to poz that radar motor exactly right and that will take some finagling.

We have basic functions!

There are still a couple kinks.

The led wires press against the motor which displaces it from the gears enough to stop the motor dead; or offset it enough to not connect and drive the radar.

When the radar does spin, the gear teeth are loose enough that they kick out causing sporadic spin. This will also wear them down over time rendering them useless in the end. If I seal the body, that is no good. I have to get a tight enough connection to prevent slippage and loose enough not to kill spin at all.

The wiring holes bored into the leg 'keys' inside the hip, have caused the legs to spin too loosely. Leaning forward, he is stable. But the moment gravity shifts back, the torso instantly flops 90° backwards.

So a couple things to work on there. I have some ideas on how to fix them.
