I was looking into getting a Nitro Monster Truck. I'm not new to the RC or Nitro hobby as I have had raced TA Buggies, 10T's, Clod Buster, Kyosho rull race onroad car ETC. , but I have been away from it for well over 10 years.
How are these Nitro RedCat Racing Monster trucks on eBay???

I'm not looking for a full race ready top of the line big $$$ unit, just looking for some back yard fun with my boy. Price is around what I want to spend and no more, are these at least decent qaulity for some back yard fun?

The local hobbytown carries the Red cat brand and sells a ton of them. They have parts in stock too so it can't be too bad.

Cool, thanks!!
Do they have hop up parts if ever needed? I see Tower Hobbies dosn't carry this brand.
Does the unit I posted look like a nice one?

this is just my 2 cents, but my nephew was in the same situation. wanted a nitro truck but didnt want to spend much. well he got what he paid for......I helped him tune it and break it in and that was about it for the truck. the knuckles in front broke repeatedly. it was very hard to work on, everything seemed to be in the way. the center tranny was open on the bottom which let rocks, dirt, anything that could fit up in there. it was a nightmare. finally the tranny just locked up. all the gears seemed to bind, so i took it apart and shimmed them all because there was a lot of slop in there. it ran like one or two tanks after that and then did it again. he sold it after like 1 or 2 months of owning it for like $30. only thing worth it was the motor. that was just my experience with that brand of vehicle. so for $300 he bought the losi aftershock just like i have. well worth the $$

Ooh man..... Not good!!
Thanks for the advice!!
I finally went and got an Associated MGT 3.0 Nitro Monster Truck. I have had a bunch of Associated stuff in the past and raced them as well, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with one of those trucks.

great decision, my friend and brother bought the 4.6 mgt's and they are a nice truck. AE always makes quality vehicles. havent heard of or seen an associated vehicle that was junk yet.
