View Full Version : 21.5 Spec. Class Outdoors @ The Midwest Triclone? - West Bend, WI
FarroutRacing 02-23-2009, 10:01 PM ok the indoor season is winding down. i was thinking that we started a spec class on indoor track of the midwest triclone. why not bring it outdoors. but im stuck on some stuff. should we have a spec roll out? should we have a spec gearing? what tires are we going to use? i love the spec class so much. i hope we can get it out doors. i would like to see if anyone has any ideas. if anyone would run it.
hope we can run it,
sean
haysreeling 02-23-2009, 10:16 PM Sean, we have had some discussion on it and are planning on running it. I think they might be thinking about replacing the Late Model class with it. It would be a fixed rollout, but would have to be much higher. We wil do some testing with the spec tires, but it may be better to use the tires we are already using. Lets just hope we get more guys racing outdoors than we had last year!!
FarroutRacing 02-24-2009, 08:17 AM sounds good hays. if u need anyone to help testing. i could just let me

haysreeling 02-24-2009, 09:36 PM Sean, we wil let you test the tires to see how they work out there.
We could make make this class so the single cell 13.5 Lipo's could be used in conjunction with the regular 21.5 lipo's and make the rollout of the 21.5 equal the single cell speed. This would also make the transition into next carpet season better.
Would the LM guys be interested in using the regular bodies with wings and the spec rules instead of the LM bodies? I think it may be easier to get the cars around track.
driver82 02-24-2009, 09:58 PM As far as I know, we are still running latemodels as are, but with a fixed gear ratio.

hays that mean i have to get new battiers for my car?
FarroutRacing 02-25-2009, 08:35 AM or are the battiers i have one cell lipo. but if we keep it how it is if theres not enogh spec class people to race one week end. all what the spec guys would have to do is change the pinon so thay can match the speed. thats how its set up indoors right know.

haysreeling 02-25-2009, 11:58 AM Sean, you can keep the batteries you have now, nobody has to buy anything new unless they want to run the single cell pack.

so u dont have to run a single cell. ok ic now
cheatr71 02-25-2009, 09:37 PM I just want to ask a stupid question? If the club is struggling with car counts, is adding another class where more investment is involved the answer. I highly doubt that just one battery pack and a voltage booster(or whatever that thing is called) is going to make the local club a packed house. What is the reason for wanting to add another class outdoors anyways, I thought the couple classes that were ran were fun and competetive, now the racers want to split that up( I guess everybody got their stimulus check)? Just leave it alone it ain't broke. If everyone is so bent on making a new class just fix the roll-out and tires used and ejoy your hobby. Sorry to complain.

C43GO 02-25-2009, 11:24 PM I don't think we are looking to split it up. we are just looking ahead and to see what might come around the corner. there is alot of talk on here that the single cell is going to be the entry level class and if this is so why should we limit others from coming to our track and vice versa. with the voltage of the single cell being way less it should also slow the racing down and let us go side by side since batteries are half the prcie I think it is good to look ahead and it sounds like the way JR talks we are looking into this for the next carpet season. I really don't ccare either way lets just decide what we are doing and go RACE!!!! I will haave fun no matter what.
FarroutRacing 02-26-2009, 08:24 AM jason hays was thibking of replacing the latemodles with the spec class. i dont care if theres a spec class. ill run noraml 21.5. ill do anything to get out of the "demiltion in a oval class". i was just try to figue out how to get a 21.5 class and save some money. like i said i dont mind running normal 21.5 out doors.
