I started this kit some time back, but I am just a slow builder the hull is assembled and in the photo below I've just finished installing the flying sub bay and have applied the first coat of putty. I don't do lighting so I can seal the seams, to get a good first coat I applied it with my finger:)

I don't build things as they should be done and the Seaview is an example, I thought a set of grab irons on the side of the sail and the hull would be a nice touch so there they are.

When I was cementing the hull together the cast railings along the missle tubes got in the way so I cut them off, but replaced then with wire replacements, I also thought the missle hatches looked a little bare so I added a hinge to add some intrest.

Another coat of primer and I'll be ready to paint soon.

Why be fast if you don't have to be?? It's your model.

I like the touch with the grab irons on the hull and sail and the hinges as well :)

Cheers,

Alec.

Actually, taking your sweet time about it is the way model building is SUPPOSED to be done! So far, so good!

I like the grab irons,...very nice work.
I was too lazy to mess with mine other than fixing the few that got "busted"

Those grab handles on the sail are really sharp. You know, now we all have to do it.

thanks for all the positive comments, and hey Bert glad to see your still around. She will look nice on the shelf with my 1/72 scale Gato and one of these days my 1/72 U-boat.

ARE YOU HAVING FUN?

It isn't a matter of how fast or slow you build, BUT THE FACT THAT YOU DO BUILD!!!! And that you are having a good Time.....

..That's the bottom line my friend

And it's looking very nice:thumbsup:

I've either posted this before or mean to post it someday somewhere else, but the Moebius kit has about 390 square inches of surface area. The windows amount to about 1.8 square inches of that, about 0.5 of 1% of the whole model. And if you peer through them you see a very restricted view of about 13 cubic inches. Not that I have anything against going to town on the control room. Go for it by all means. But where else does it make sense to put a lot of detailing? On the 99.5% of the model you'll be looking 99.9% of the time.
I think 99.5% your Seaview is looking great.

Robert, knowing your work, it will be a beauty. I like the added details, your Seaview will be unique.

Do I enjoy building these kits? Yes, I like the challange of assemblying them of looking for little things to make each one special, now and then I get side tracked and it all goes back in the closet till I get back to working on it. But I also enjoy looking at the work others post to the boards and going WOW, everyone keep up the great work.
